Would you like to see a Transformer cartoon

Recommended Posts

In what I've seen of Galaxy force, the government investigates the goings on in some fasion.

I think the GA government are going to find out in some stupid way. Maybe the kids will take the mini-cons to a caravel dressed as humans. :roll :wtf

J/k

The thing is though is any government found out about tfs the first thing that would run through their heads is. NUKE THAT MOTHER, and then we'll see if any parts are left. ;)

I'd be up for another carnivale. That was a great ep.

I dunno, I would like to see an X-Files type investigation. From what I've seen thats kinda what it looks like will go on.

I personally would love to see a Pre-Earth War Within-type cartoon series more than anything. Doesn't have to be strict to G1 or anything.

Just a series that delves into the creation of the Factions and explores the fact that there would/should be neutrals, mercenaries, arms dealers, and politicians all involved in the war.

Corrupt councils, mercs switching sides to the top-bidder, and innocents being drawn into a war between two Factions that each feel they are right.

Decepticons - Survival of the Fittest and those that are strong rule the weak. Tyranny will breed a stronger Cybertron.

Autobots - Freedom is for every living being, weak or strong. Everyone should have equal rights even if the weak physically and mentally bring down society...they are people too.

The series would give more depth into how each Faction begins and what propaganda is used on both sides of the war. This would literally show all the horridness that goes into war and brings out how simple views can cause a torrent of bloodshed. Plus it would give great characterization to the Decepticons, who aren't just evil to be evil. Also this would make the Autobots not just the "good guys" since they are just a group pushing their beliefs through all forms of means including propaganda, shoot-outs, and terrorism, just like the 'Cons.

That's honestly what I would like to see...a short, well-developed and greatly-written series that explores why the war starts and how it affects all areas of life on Cybertron. I'm thinking something like 24-28 episodes max.

EDIT --- Yes, I know this type of show could never be marketed to kids in almost anyway. But you asked for my hopes/opinions on a new TF Cartoon. That is what this is.

Personally what I'd like to see is a Transformers cartoon last for more than one year.

This is getting tiresome already if not in terms of the cartoon but also the toys. Every year Has/Tak feels they have to kill off the initial series and start it up again bigger/louder so more toys can be released while the same story is again told time and time again. Though I have yet to see it the upcoming Cybertron will probably just be another retelling of Armada/energon with new characters and new gimics but essentially the same. The toys will mostly be awsome and come years end it's on to something new but not different. When this does happen here's what I want to see for the next time around.

I want to see an entirely new cast of Cybertron based characters who war in space. No earth/human involvement until much later on in the series. I want characters who can be fully fleshed out/evolve in time who as the series transcends. Characters who aren't typical black/White but make decisions that you don't expect that character to make. So far Armada's take on Starscream is the closest I've ever seen to this.

In time it's inevitable the war will be brought to us but even so the potential for a good cartoon is there. Though the planet would never become the war torn battlefield it was in G2 I'd expect military/goverment involvement on some level. If done properly I'd like to see a continuous overall plot but in miniarcs, with scattered individual storys. Not filler like Carnival/Vacation but actual episodes with a plot that fits into the overall structure of the story.

I also want the story to evolve over time not compacted into one year. New charactes can be introduced while others are slagged but the continuity of it is always the same meaning of course that Optimus Prime/megatron would be the same with the exception of being upgraded as in BeastWars/Beast Machines. It would give Has/Tak an excuse to release a new figure but at the least the continuity wouldn't have to change.

What I don't want to see

Children involvement on any level

Megatron becoming Galvatron

Any sign nor mention of teh Chaos Bringer

Anymore bullBlot CGI/cel shaded animation unless done properly

Autobots/Decepticons racing the clock to find minicons/energon/planetary keys or anything. Go back to the civil War and leave it at that.

No more combining Gestalt drones/Megazords/sparks of combination. No more damned gimicks, save the transformation. Instead base it around the characters and motivations of each faction and there should be no need for an alternate gimick .

No more Japanese to american voice dubbed animation unless done properly. The last series respectfully being RID.

If Has/Tak could steer clear of all of that we all may get a half decent TF series but I' for one am not holding my breath.

I agree with previous posts that most of the elements described in the first post have been explored in one form or another. Another of my many reasons for preferring the UK Marvel comic to the original cartoon is that I believe it is a more believable representation of how humans would really react to the Transformers' presence on Earth-- total fear against all factions. The formation of RAAT by Triple-I in the comic is the type of military response you're talking about, and it has most of the elements you mention. As Deathmarch mentioned, they captured several Transformers and studied their technology, even going so far and to use the Autobot carcasses to build their own giant gestalt. Then there's GB Blackrock, an enterprising sort of guy who came up with his own private strike team to combat the TFs. Okay, so the Neo-Knights thing is more X-Men and less realistic, but the idea of an oil tycoon who faced numerous attacks by Decepticons creating his own strike team makes sense.

a more adult series based on the binaltech story, written by some people who are given a translation of the story and fleash out the events (swindle infecting the autobots in the battle and sideswipes anger and sorrow of him losing his brother with dead end inhabiting what should have been his body. also some scenes of what goes on outside of this arc with the other autobots fighting on cybertron when the scrambler is used that winds up with the dinobots going crazy and grimlock being the lone survivor of the faction. however, not cg1 as humans are difficult to create but cellshaded animation of quality would be appreciated.

personification of the tfs instead of little
