best executed transformers figure

Recommended Posts

G1 Soundwave. Not only was he pretty articulate for his time but he looked like a real minicassette playing walkman. On top of that his batteries which are stored in his back turn into his guns. No hunting for missing pieces.

I love the gun storage thing. 2 years ago I won a vintage Soundwave that the seller believed was 90% complete but he didn't think to check the battery cover. Boy was I Happy.

I always thought that the early cassette Transformers were well done.

G1:

Laserbeak/Buzzsaw

Rumble/Frenzy

Soundwave/Soundblaster

Megatron (great piece of engineering; the only kibble I have a gripe about is the trigger - plus, unlike Optimus Prime, you don't have to take off any of his body parts (i.e. fists) to transform him.)

Sideswipe

Bluestreak/Prowl

Shockwave

Jetfire

Ratbat

Cyclonus (great idea)

Steeljaw

Ramhorn

G2:

Laser Optimus Prime/R.I.D. Scourge

Volt

Jolt

Electro

Dreadwing w/ Starscream

BW:

Optimus Primal (the original Ultra gorilla)

TMII Megatron

Silverbolt

Cybershark

TM Cheetor

TMII Scarem

RID:

Prowl

Armada:

None

Energon:

Arcee

Starscream

I was pretty impressed with TM2 Ramulus (aka Long Horn if you're going to make me be speific on the mold I own) .. not to obivious about what he turns into.

RiD Car Bros.. XBrawn I think was one of my more favorites.

G1 - The Datsuns I liked. In it's day, they were the alts. I would say Prime, but the deal with changing fists irritates me.

BM - Mega Tankor. Kicks.

Starscream from The movie.

Starscream: "Megatron, is that you?"

Galvatron: "Here's a hint."

Boom

G1:

None - In my eyes atleast

Bw:

TM Megatron - Good looking Beast and Robot mode

Optimal Optimus - 4 modes and all are impressive, its a winner in my books

TM Rhinox - Kibble free, i like it :D

TM Terrorsaur - In my top 5 for sure :drool

BM:

Skydive - In my top 5. hes awsome :drool

Terrontron - A great Repaint to a great mold

RiD:

Prowl - Awsome looking in both modes

Scourge - Top 5 :D :drool

Armada:

Supercon Prime - Top 5 :drool

Red alert - I like him, he looks amazing in both modes. no unneeded kibble

Hoist - can pull off some great poses

Terrorsaur - One of my favs brought back..AGAIN :D

Energon:

Downshift - just looks great, solid in all 4 modes

Cybertron:

Hot Shot - The newest member of my top five list :drool

best executed...

G1, I love the Reflector team

and agree totally on the soundwave and tapes. Of the cars, the Sideswpe mold was my favorite. But the best on show accurace, even if his arms weren't the best, was Blitzwing. Even in the show they sometimes incorporated the tank turret in jet mode, and it was removable if you were a stickler.

Beastwars the prizes go to TF Cheetor, TM Megs, and the Fuzors

Best Machines I'm a lil sketchy on, but I love the jet drone mold.

Rid, Scourge, second to Prime. Mostly becuase Prime's supermode just covers the kibble....unless you count that ladder.

Armada the Decepticons get all the prizes. From Wheeljack (same reasons I love the Sideswipe mols) to Tidalwave...but really, the best done is Skywarp. He gets the arward for what they didn't do: a straight repaint. Skywarp has a remolded head, the VTOL ports, and a totally different minicon, yet wasn't in the SHOW! Truly a work for the fans.

Energon, well this gets interesting...the show actually incorperated the kibble. I mean the ends of Starscream's missles were actualy in the show, which cracked me up. They really did a great job on these toys from dreadwing, the terror cons, the omnicons, to shockblast...I guess the best executed..Towline (showing what g1 ratchet/ironhide SHOULD have been), Sharkticon, Megs...all of Bruiticus. The losers though...and damn they had to suck, from Prime (unless you have Wingsabre), Snowcat (simple, but when compared to the others...) Ironhide (maybe if his head could have popped in his body a la Armada Starscream)

Energon:

none

starscream, Duh! :tfevil

They needed to lengthen his arms.... Otherwise I agree.

Yeah - It's the only gripe I have about that figure. I've always wondered why there's that small space between the arms and the wing assembly....it could have been used to lengthen the forearms, at the very least.

Best one in my view is RID Optimus Prime.
