Ideas for possible Alternators

Recommended Posts

I want Brawn as a Jeep Liberty (realistically speaking), or unrealistically he could be the Jeep Hurricane concept I mentioned in another thread.

Swindle repainted/remolded as Sandstorm

Mitsubishi Raider pickup as Ironhide

And hows about this for a different twist on the alts--Do what it takes to get the license for the Mini Cooper, and have a red Cooper S as Cliffjumper, no biggie there. Then, for the remold a blue one in rally trim for Rumble. He gets the driving lites, 8-spoke wheels, and a big fat ass british flag painted on the roof. For the new twist, how about molding certain parts in the robot mode to give him the look of your traditional british street punk? Like mold the helmet to have a bit of a mohawk haircut flavor to it, maybe put some spikes around his neck and wrists, and give him a chain axe or some other british punk/dreadnok (from GI Joe) type weapon. It'd fit both the car and Rumble's personality perfectly!

My prediction is that the line will become more 'cost effective' that means the simplicity of the Prowl mold will become the norm.

has/tak will run out of 'decepticar' names and soon Ravage as a car will seem relatively logical. Based on the success of the Insecticon reissues, we'll soon enough see Alt/Bt versions of the Insecticons.

In general, additonal obscure characters will be used. In order to avoid people shouting 'that isn't (insert name here)' they will continue to use a mold for a major character, then use it for a minor character as well.

Trailbreaker will probably be a repaint of Ironhide.

Those expecting Sunstreaker to be the same mold as Sideswipe may be very disapointed....

Soundwave

Rumble

Skids

I predict a few store exclusives, a convention exclusive, few (1 or 2) new molds, and a lot of Starscreaming.

Alright, we've heard the little rumors and I believe there was an official announcement or some kind of press release that came from Has/Tak that mentioned they'd be making planes. 1/72 scale or some such.

So here is the subject to post away on. Who do you want to see come out first, and what kind of plane. Should Starscream, Thrust, Ramjet, etc. be all the same model? All the original seekers were based off the F-15C Eagle. Since this aircraft still flies today, should they still make them F-15s?

I do think it will be interesting to see what they come up with. Here is the biggest issue I think they are going to have to deal with. With the cars...there was plenty of bulk and ways to hide the robot parts, but on Jets, you have the main bulk wrapped up in the fuselage, cockpit, and nose. The wings have nothing to them. How will they make these guys look as decent as the cars when there is virtually nothing to work with. Plus, how will they make them as realistic as the cars in their alt mods without robot kibble showing everywhere.

Here are my brainstorms for jets...

F-117 Stealth

If done correctly, no kibble should show. However, I share your concerns, Bainreese.

Being a kitbasher, I know how hard it is to get parts to both look and function properly in both robot and alt modes, as well as keeping them concealed in order to convey the image of disguise. That being said, there's only so much that can be done. But it's not impossible. The only thing that will hang up HasTak is the cost factor.

Those Characters I think are worthy of an Alternator mold...

Jetfire

Starscream

Ramjet

Thrust

Skywarp

Thundercracker

Any G1 Arialbot

Misfire

(Please by all that is holy do not make a Powerglide mold. That character was just plain annoying.)

Well it would be easier then the alternators and binaltech cars due to the lack of interior funishings. The rest of the plan can conceal most of the robot parts with little trouble.
