He was great, but they'll make an Alternators Megatron for the Go-Bots homage. I'm really looking forward to the Beast Wars Megatron reissue. I hope he even has rubbery synthetic skin like those big Jurassic Park toys.

And since he won't have a light-up Matrix feature, they could have a sound clip of him saying "yesssss" or "nooooo" and make it like a magic 8-ball kind of thing.

G2 Megatron was way better than G1 Megs anyway. I don't know what all you Pretenders are whining about.

OK, here's a thought: How about a new design for Megatron? Instead of a realistic vehicle/weapon, how about something more Future-tech?

 

Personally, I kinda dig the idea of Autobots being realistic, having actual licensed car-modes as alt-modes, while the Decepticons have more fantastic designs. It would add more distinction between Autobots and Decepticons. Autobots wanting to co-exist with other life-forms, thus adapt to them (Using alt-modes familiar to them, the humans) while Decepticons want to conquer, and adapt themselves to use the latest war-technology available, instead of earth-based tech.

 

It would even fit in the Binaltech story. After all, all the decepticons in the story so far have recieved/stolen their alt-modes from the Binaltech Project.

Add my voice to those interested in a Masterpiece Megatron based on a tank. Looks like a good choice.

If Megatron is to be a masterpiece fig, I think he needs to come as close as humanly possible to the Cartoon Megs as they did with MP Prime. I dont want him to have tank treads on his arms and legs. I dont want his arm cannon modified.

 

His trigger crotch could easily be moded to have a pull down, 180 rotating action like BT Overdrives hood back.

There's still the issue of how his arms ar supposed to attach to one side of his torso by the wrists in gun mode or how the hips are supposed to fold up, never mind how much the proprotions of a massive +12" handgun will be off (the bonus of this would be it'd look so little like a real gun and more like a silver space blaster Hasbro might get away with releasing it in the US).

 

I'd settle for either a 12" non-transforming highly posable figure released out of the MP line, a G1-colored G2 tank mode, or perhaps even War Within Megatron.

Transformers... Must... Transform!

 

For my part, An out of scale gun (with snipe accessories) would be perfect.
