Which do you go by?

Sumookusukuriin = Smokescreen? That's curapu!

Actually "kurappu" (or "curappu") would be a more accurate way to write it in romanized katakana. :tftongue

I mostly go by american names, but some not always.

I mostly go by american names, but some not always.

This is pretty much what I do as well.

Take Superlink/Energon: I prefer Roadbuster to Ironhide, since Ironhide to me should be a grizzled TF-vet and not a rookie. But for most of the others I just use their US name.

For Headmaster-Zone I use their Japanese names because I think the names in the US at the time weren't great. Plus I usually go by the cartoon. Most of the time I use US names for everyone else. However there is exceptions such as Energon Downshift, I use Wheeljack, Shockbast=Shockwave, etc.

I usually stick with the american names in place of the Japanese ones. If I have a Japanese character though.. say I got the Japanese version of Laserbeak and that crab dude in beast wars (which I do) Then I call them as such.. Hydra and Rockbuster.

I do preffer the jap names for some of the armada guys.. Blurr was Silverbolt.. Red alert was Ratchet.. Smokescreen was Grap (aka Grapple) which seemed a WHOLE lot more fitting than what we called em.

It depends on which series I'm discussing.

If I'm discussing G1 Season 3, it's Rodimus Prime & Blaster. If I'm discussing TF:2010 it's Rodimus Convoy and Broadcast.

I try to keep each continuity true to itself. TF: Car Robots has Fire Convoy & Gigatron, TF: Robots in Disguise has Optimus Prime and Megatron. Though I will readily admit that Speedbreaker is a much better name than Sideburn.
