It occurs to me that the energon parts would look better in orange.  You might try the dye method to get them that color while still being translucent?

how do i do it?

From what I have read you use cloth dye... i.e. RIT dye that you would use to dye clothing.  Just make a normal dye bath and plunk the Transformers part in it.  I have never done this myself.

sounds risky.... maybe i finished up everything and see the overall look first before deciding to dye it or not...

Well, it is being released in Energon, so let's keep our fingers crossed that he gets a spiffy a paint job.

That will look better than the G1 Scorponok toy. I hated those colors. Or maybe mine just looks weird.

you could make the head from a minicon and turn him into a  headmaster.
