Why do they have to put kids in a TF cartoon

Recommended Posts

Humans in G1 were kept to a minimum. Sure there were a few episodes about that mad scientist and some involvement with Spike, the dad and chip but they were NOT annoying the way the brats/kids are in Armada, Energon and what I will expect to continue in GF.

Don't forget Daniel in season 3, who imho was more irritating than Spike in season 1.

Still that is just ONE brat, instead four or five annoying ones like in Armada. And one Kicker is about the same IMO as 10 annoying brats.

I liked Spike and Carly (who's a GIRL in a cartoon that was aimed at prepubescent boys!) :tfgrin

What's more, I also liked seeing the G1 Autobots being friends with the humans.

Daniel I could tolerate b/c his dad Spike was cool and earned respect. The other brats though *censored profanity*.

I dunno, I think the kids in GF actually serve a decent purpose. At least they don't take up over 80% of an episode like they have for the past two series.

Also, kids are seriously useful. Let's go back a bit. No, further. Remember RiD? Well, if it wasn't for kids, Tokyo or New York would have looked like a pancake if not for good ol' Koji. Yes, he did save the city single handedly. Why if it wasn't for him, Fortess Maximus would have entirely destroyed the city. And in RiD, Fortress Maximus was a colossal bot. He took a little rampage in Tokyo and he managed do destroy countless buildings. He was like a Mecha-Gozilla on some serious steriods.

Anyhoo, yall gotta remember that Armada and Energon showed how badly humans could mess things up for giant bots. Even then they were remotely useful. While the Armada kids did nothing signifigant I remember, Kicker did alot of cool stuff. Like beating the stuffing out of countless Terrorcons.

I think Kicker is annoying because of his voice. He sounds like he's always

whining. When I watch Superlink, I don't feel the same way. Yeah,

I don't understand what he's saying (I'm reading the subtitles of course)

but his voice in Superlink is more smooth and not annoying. Same goes

for Ironhide.

Yeah, at least they sounded like warriors. I still can't believe how they messed up the scene where Wheeljack (Downshift) and Prowl ask Ironhide for what happened and instad of yelling "Why don't you join my team!", he yelled: "Why don't you cool it and leave me aloooone!"

Whoever did that should honestly get fired.

To be fair, the last human character that made any sens was Koji in RID. He had a reason for being with the TF, they were looking for his dad, and he staye dat the Autobot HQ. Even the G1 humans at least had reasons for being there. The Armada kids were just hanging around and were very annoying. Energon wasn't much better.

I don't see how having kids in the show makes the show interesting for kids. I didn't care that Spike and Chip were around when I was a kid. All I cared about were the cool Transformers. I liked robots so much that I even rented R-rated Robocop. Violence, meh. Language, didn't really understand anyway. I just wanted to see Robocop.

Japan's had a long tradition of adding kids, remember the boy and chimp pair from Speed Racer? The Gamera movie series started off a bit more serious, but it didn't make it's real money until it added kids into the fray and made Gamera "a friend of all children." Japan still is pretty big on Astro Boy (who, as can be determined by the American title, is a small robot boy) to this day. Still, if you look at other shows like Ultraman, it was adults playing the hero back in the 60s, but that's now changed and (like most anime and manga), it's a group of perky young people saving the world every week.

Adult collectors probably tend towards the G1 reissues (for nostalgia) or the more detailed and high quality BT/Alt lines. Kids couldn't care less about these, so Takara has to do all it can to reel them in to the lines with cartoons backing them up. I don't watch these shows so it doesn't matter to me one way or the other, but I feel your pain.

Because for some reason they think they need some little brat the kiddies can releate too. Honestly I think its dumb too I dont fully buy this "because its for kids" argument I have a little brother and he and his friends hate the annoying human characters too. I dont mind human characters but me thinks they can write a little better for them.
