Binaltech Ravage - you gotta LOVE that pussycat!

I'm not sure if it's intentional, but Ravage's weapons include "proton bombs" (G1 Ravage's original weapons) and a "fusion gun".

Now, think about this:

G1 Megatron had a fusion cannon.

Energon Battle Ravage has weapons that look just like G1 Megatron's fusion cannon.

Binaltech Ravage has a fusion gun.

A simplified version of the fearsome weapon of his old master?

Nevermore wins teh GOLD!!! :clap :thumb

B Ravage aint ugly. I was lucky enough to find him in Toys R Us of all places. It would be more fun if Hasbro named him Agent Ravage to go with this story.

knowing that he has more in common with BW rav then g1 rav puts a lot at ease for me

i agree with alot of people that now ive read the story the toys makes far more sence

Ummm....thing is BW Ravage IS G1 Ravage, just upgraded to a Pred body to conserve Energon and what ever else the smaller bodies allowed.

I'm glad they did this with the story. I was so not very pleased when I saw the pics of Ravage as a BinAlt. Having picked him up (2 Alts and waiting on the Binal), I was less irritated, but it still made little sense. Now it all comes around.

I wish Hasbro would supply some story..oh wait....they may just mess it up, so never mind....

I would love for someone now to even try to say that Binaltech isn't supposed ro be G1.....

giving it a shot :thumb :

binaltech is not G1, it is an extension/elaboration/sidestory of G1. from what i understand 'binaltech' occurs before the movie so they have to revert back to their original bodies, how they will do it i dont know. saying it 'IS' G1 is a misnomer. the fact that they are referencing BW and X-9 signifies that they are making it fit in continuity.

toywise, binaltech is a homage to diaclone - 'realistic' transforming cars and any references to the G1 toys should be appluaded and should not be derided for any 'liberal' deviations.

Good observation. Add to that the remolds and color/decal variations of the same characters (Smokescreen, Tracks, Smokescreen GT, Meister). :)

BTW: Update to my summary of the BT story is coming up soon.

So here's mine: :thumb

The fact that they have taken different characters (aside from the bots themselves), organizations, and events from not only the cartoon but the Marvel Comic makes this G1.

The comics especially had many different story arcs, sidestories. Would you then not consider that G1, even thought it takes place in the same continuity? Hell, if that's the case, then the movie isn't G1 since most of the major player from then are dead, and some have changed bodies, and some are brought back...hmmm...kind of like Binaltech....

You said it yourself, this is a sidestory, or extension. Since they are taking different pieces from the major canons and making them fit together means this is suppose to be G1, just an untold story.

Whether you call him Jaguar, Ravage, or X-9, it's the same character from BW, which is an updated G1 character, both directly related and tie into G1 continuity. It's not merely a casual "reference" or even a coincidence...

Even the writer said he was leaving it open for the bots to be returned back to their original form in time to fit within the movie timeline. Original forms from where?

Toywise, G1 is a homage to Diaclone and Microman. If we really want to get technical, we should pay homage to those lines, since that's really where it all started as far as TF's are concerned. That's however not what I'm dicussing. Diaclone didn't have same story that had been referenced, if at all, in ANY continuity. I'm simply saying stating that all those people have this strange abhoration of G1, which I never really understood why, are probably wishing they weren't "screaming" at the G1 fans "BINALTECH IS NOT GEE WUN!!! GEE WUN SUCKS!!"

I may not have liked Armada, but hey, I respect it as part of the TF legacy. I've enjoyed all the other continuities, American, UK, and Japanese and appreciate them. I don't have some blind hate towards them for some unknown reason....

One of the best parts is, that this Ravage is made from the ships "Blackbox" not BW Ravage's body or spark, leaving it available for the Vok to make TM Tigatron from the body, and Turantulast to make TM2 Ravage from the spark in Primeval dawn

I hope I'm not late but what ever happened to Bodycount? This is starting to get too familiar.

Maybe I misread this, but I thought they recovered Ravage's head (as well as the ship)...
