Interesting Observation on Optimus Prime

Recommended Posts

First they were blue, then the Beast Era gave us red for Primal (who is not a Prime), and now, ever since RID, Optimus Prime has had yellow eyes.

Now, I realize the G1 toy had yellow eyes, but on the show, his eyes were blue and that is what I'm going by.

Has yellow become the standard eye colors for Optimus now? I'm not Starscreaming and trying to say that the eyes should be blue. I actually think it's pretty neat. The yellow kind of off-sets the blue and gray of the had, which if he had blue eyes would be blended together too much, ala 20th Prime.

Does anyone else agree with me that the yellow eyes actually make Optimus Prime look better than if he had blue eyes?

I know, some of you are probably thinking this is a weird topic, but I don't think it's been done before, and it's something new to discuss. So don't slag me. :tfevil :tfevil

gives prime some variety. i think the classic look is teh blue.. and the new look is yellow lol.

edit: teh kolorz!!!

Actually, the eyes in the cartoon were blue on ALL the Autobots, and red on ALL the Decepticons. The comic versions of the characters eyes' were much closer to the actual toys. The super mode of Armada Prime, both reg. and PL had red eyes, and Omega Prime had blue eyes. But yeah, I see where you're going with this EM.

hmmmn. you make a vaild point...

i quite like the blue, it gives a kind of innocence. (primal when he had the matrix had green eyes)

the yellow is probably used cos it doesn't clash with blue as bad as other colours might

in g1 cartoon up till the stunticons and arielbots. stunticons had purple and blue as well as red. Slingshot had orange eyes (as far as i can remember)

Well, I've only seen Season 1. I don't even have season 2, either half. So I'm working from what I had. Give me a break, but thanks for letting me know.

didn't mean to offend. season 1 was probebly the best anyway (no characters appearing out of no where) :thumb

Where did the second group of Autobots come from. There's no episode that explains where they came from, is there? I've streamed "The Immobilizer" from the internet, but I saw some season 2 characters, but no episode before it, thus giving no explanation where they came from.

Didnt Season One have dinobots with RED eyes?

Also i think the idea behind BW primes and megs is that the GREAT WAR is over. The matrix is lost or destroyed. Megatron/Barney-tron is basically a deserter and a terrorist organizer

Primal/munkyboy- is just a captain of a space ship. with a normalish non millitary crew.

Megatron stole the name as a homage (trying to rekindle the idea of the decepticon rebellion)

and "optimus" is kinda like a title like "Commander" or "Captain"
