I personally like the transformation with a background a final stance. It looks not only cool, but it looks like it says something about the character. The general transforming, while it's okay, it just says, well in my mind, "okay, I've transformed and I can fight now" That's why I like the motion, background, final stance transformation sequence. :tfgrin

I personally like it when they do a transformation during the scene instead of those closeup special background things. Has a bit to much Sailor Senshi effect to me, the onlookers are just looking on calmly and not blasting hell out of them during that long drawn out transformation?

I like transformation within the scene.. i also think they don't incorporate this enough in the show.. ie; kup transforming in the movie as he hit the hill so he could grab Blitzwings tank barrel

Just transforming. Transforming with that manga background and saying "transform" is retarded. :tdown

I like transforming within the scene. The transformers considered transforming the same way we considered standing up, so they should do it more frequently to suit the situation. A long drawn out process seems to take away from the fact that it was a casual thing to them and wonderous to humans.

Just general Transforming.. usually it's alright once in awhile to have them do the flashy splash screens and everything, but I prefer the Beast Wars take on it.. where you can see the action happening around them when they changed instead of everyone suddely taking a coffee break midpoint of a battle.

Just transforming in scene. The splash screen just wastes time and is used to save on animation.

I am going to say both, which isn't a choice. I feel that the detailed transformation with the stance at the end (ala RID, Energon, Armada etc) should be used only when the character is first introduced or when something new is happening. Otherwise it just takes up too much time. Some Armada episodes seemed like they didn't do much except show 10 guys transform, have a commercial and show 10 minutes of talking and 2 minutes of battles.

In scene. "Splash scenes" are for Voltron, and Power Rangers. And Pokemon. And Yu-Gi-Oh. And Dragonball Z. And so on, and so on.

Just transforming. Transforming with that manga background and saying "transform" is retarded. :tdown

Man! How do you read my mind like that?

The only exception to this, of course, is when they do it in BW/BM. :D
