When the hood is up the head is in a better place so I think I like it like that best. Great job man. :thumb

Oh man that is awesome...so cool.

Can it Transform? How hard was it to make?

I'm gonna have to go with hood down ... it just looks a lot cleaner.

Thanks for the comments guys. Am still undecided about the head so will leave it till last. UNfortunately I didn't get time to take the photos and am away next week so will have to wait a bit longer for more detail. The weapons (only 2 visible I think) were made from alt smokescreen's gun and G1 smokescreens 3 missiles. The head was also smokescreen's but has been heavily modified as close ups will reveal.

The body was a hybrid of a 1:24 ford focus svt and alternator smokescreen. I cut the focus into 3 parts to start with: front, rear and roof. I then cut the rear in two and detached the doors and trims from the front end. There was a vrey convenient screw hole below the dash board of the focus which allowed me to attach smokescreens abdomen using the hole meant for his head also.

The arms I attached (painstakingly!) so that they would transform in reverse (wheels to the front) with a metal pin holding them in place. The legs are also reverse transform and the wheel axles run through the holes that normally attach the ankles to the rear of the impreza. The heels on smokescreen's feet are the toes on this model, with the rear windows trimmed and painted black for shinguards. MOdelling putty basically holds the feet onto the focus frame.

One of the doors is attached by drilling down through the dash, but I've encountered trouble with the other. The roof should be easy enough to attach so that it acts as a removable shield or backplate. I transformed him for the first time last night and he holds together well. All he needs is the other door and a way to attach the sills (under the door) that will allow them to be hidden in robot mode but confer some stability in vehicle mode.

Glad people like it so far. I hope that I can fix the other door over the weekend so that I can post some decent pics of his robot mode. Hopefully I can then finish him over the next week and post finished versions of both modes. As for difficulty I have to say he's ben a challenge and took many hours. NOt being too experienced I had several moments where I was stuck for an idea of how to get around certain issues. I started back in November and have had several breaks from the project, both to pursue other matters and preserve my sanity. I'm very pleased with the result and hope that the finished version isn't a disappointment. THnaks for looking.

Hood down. Looks more like his old self. :thumb

Need to see Alt mode...soon. :tfgrin

Amazing work. I would say hood down (head doesn't look out of place to me).

Again, sweetness!

You know, I've been watching this thread with alot of interest in seeing how it turns out.

I must say given better photo's and some action poses and this would make a great gallery.

Keep up the great work man.Very true to his G1 self yet still adding the Alt flair.

Hi gang, thanks for all the kind praise. I would be honoured to add a gallery to Tfmasters site as soon as he's 100% finished. I've fixed the door and so now only have to attach the roof and sills somehow. I've gone with hood down for now tahnks to people's opinions.
