GF Flame Convoy and Inch-Up

Recommended Posts

Not diggin' Flame Convoy...Inch- Up is growing on me. (That almost sounds dirty... :tftongue )

I think this line is trying to please everyone...young North American kids (Tonka-Like basics), Beast Wars People (Flame Convoy...etc...) and Japanese/Gaijin super Gundam/Evangelion freaks (GF Convoy, Starscream)!

This line has something for everyone...buy what looks good...(at this point more Cybertron to buy than Armada and Energon for me)....don't buy what you don't like.

We don't need to get the old Truk/Munky/(Three headed Dragon debate going)... They made Prime WITH or WITHOUT a mouth this time! Hastak is hedging all their bets this time.

Well, ehem, that's my rant.

Peace Out

I really hope flame convoy doesn't have a mouth. He just looks wicked. plus he has a polearm! YAY FOR POLEARMS!!! upon inspection though.... seems flame convoy doesn't have knee articulation... oh god i hope thats not true.... But I do love Chimeras, someone do a kitbash! From what I see from his head though, I love the design, he looks like lord zedd from the first power rangers season. ROFL. But it still is a pretty mean looking design. The paint apps, if done correctly, could look like his skin is like that of a volcano with cracks and lava is seeping through. The chicken feet is making me wonder though. I'm definitely getting it. But if it has a mouth.... then I might not. Ahhh well.

Unpainted protos always look better than the final release versions. I remember the first time I saw the Armada Overload proto I just about wet myself.

Still, it's nice to see that the E Shockblast homage doesn't carry over into bot form (or else it was in my head all along). I really like the character of Shockwave, but I don't think we need another one. I hated E Shockblast, but the Alternators version is beautiful, IMO, and I'm all for stopping while one's ahead.

Outside of the colors, where do you get the E-Shockblast homage? He doesnt really remind me of anyone. Maybe G1 Crosshairs in vehicle mode, since both seem to be Cybertronian monster trucks with no small fenders, indicating that both of these guys were meant to be huge-tired all along, rather than modified versions of another vehicle. Either way, this guy's mine....

I dunno. It just looks like Shockblast's head with wheels to me. Plus it's kinda got an eye on it's windshield... Kind of silly either way, if you ask me.

:thumb Totally Agrees!!!!

I've read somewhere on this forum that they fired the designer for the beast wars/beast machines lines and re-hired him to do the Galaxy Force figures.

Looking at my transformers collection I tend to believe that. I Felt (In my opinion) that they Lost something when they started the Armada and the Energon Line. It was more "kiddie-like". Though a handful were good figures (Unicron was the best figure to come out of that line!!!), the majority as a whole, I didnt like. (Most had limited posability and Day-glow colors!!) Thank goodness Im not a completist.

All this attention to panel lines, gears and circutry (and even facial sculpts) appeals to me (Like the beastwars/beast machines line) not to mention the articulation (which is superb I might add and without ball-socket joints, I'm talking about the mega and super size figures)

No, I dont think these will be shelf warmers at all ...if they ever come here to the states that is (If, when,Never?). I doubt if I would ever see the show, but does a toyline really need a TV show to sell?

:wave Actually thats the most detailed pic I've seen so far of flame Convoy. thanks for the enlargement.

He does have that crest thing like all convoys/primes have and from what I could see, he has no face plate but a mouth with fangs coming from his lower jaw.

....Look closely :eek

hmmm...

Inchup I might get when he's repainted. (We all know it's going to happen.)

Flame Convoy...I was already in doubt when I saw the unpainted prototype but now I'm sure: I'll pass.
