My custom MP Magnus armor has been started!

Are you using velcro to attach the pieces? (kinda looks like some under the armpit there)

If not, what ARE you using to connect the pieces?

Some velcro and a combination of sliding tracks to lock the pieces in place.

Cool! Looks promising Sodawilly!

BTW, OoHoo! Is that a HP PC there? :wtf

looks promising...

How dare you put some thing on the Japanese Optimus! He is the clean version after all. :tflaugh :tfevil :tflaugh1 :tfgrin But seriously it looks pretty good though personally I think it is best to keep it G1 but to each his own. Yes I am one of those much hated G1 purists. I am 23 and remember that when I was a kid if you didn`t know what happened the night before on transformers you were like an outcast all day. :tflaugh :tfevil :tflaugh1 :tfgrin

The only reason you see the armor on Prime right now is that I don't have the MP-02 Ultra Magnus figure yet. I am using the figure for scale measurements and reference. This is attachable armor my friend.

I would NEVER ruin my Japanese Optimus Prime.....EVER......lol

I like some of the new stuff, but for me, I will always be a huge fan of G1.....For me, Binaltech is G1 revisited!

I agree 100% the Alternator/ Binal-tech line is G1 revamped/ revisited and I`m totaly loving all 7 of my current Alts. I did realize that it was removeable I was just joking thus the little laugh smiles. Good luck on yours as for mine I plan to go G1 all the way it may take longer and be harder w/ making it transform and all but the end result should be very rewarding. :tfgrin

By the way did you sketch it out firs or did you jump right in? I recomend at least coming up w/ some quik sketches and then start the really tough designing. Here`s where I got the detailed designs for my UM. It`s from ToyFare #84.

I have the rough design elements all mapped out. Using the actual mold has been great for reference for laying out the armor......As you can see, I have not gotten into the total detail of the armor just yet, but there will be a lot of detail from the animated design as well as some of my own, since this line of figures is supposed to be "highly detailed" =)

Like I said, when this is done, it will be slightly different than the original mold of Magnus. Hence looking at the BT molds, they are all new bodies, but retain certain characteristics from their original robot modes.

My armor I make is going to be suped up with some extra armorments, for example guns that will slide out from the forearm armor and be able to retract........Just some stuff like that. I don't want to spill all of the beans now......It wouldn't make the finished product as special as I know it will be......Mostly for me because it is a labor of love for doing something totally fun.

:pfx Kitbashing is extreamly fun that is why I can`t wait till after the new year when I have more money to play with and get this my dad spilled the beans on my christmas present yesterday h got me the complete $99 Dremel set, and teir mega accessory kit which is like $30. So after the new year you guys should be seeing alot of work from me after allI have off 5 days every 3 weeks I meen I still have to do the quality time w/ the wife and kids but I still have plenty of free time. :tfgrin
