Knockoffs

Recommended Posts

I got a few combiner sets from a National Wholesale Liquidators. They are branded "Quikchange" robots, and are distributed by a company caled Polywell.

Devastator - Yellow, with black trim. Molding is horrendous, and plastic is cheap; cheaper than my G2 Constructicons. Some bots barely transform or have panels that are raised from thr rest of the fig. Sticker application is shoddy and teh lame. Thanksfully comes together as a great Devastator.

Superion - Close to actual colors. Molding is better than Constructicons, but plastic is just as crappy. Transformations work, and pieces are are tight, except for sloppy shoulder joints, but the originals had weird shoulders too. Stickers, again, are sloppy at best. Superion is great all together.

Defensor - Now this guy is much better than the other two. The molding is "on" all around, the plastic seems to be a bit better quality. The stickers are more even. Only difference is that what would be chromed is black and Hot Spot is actually red (a big improvement). Looks great as Defensor!

each set was $4.99

I have two Walgreens by me and they have KO combiners, but not in sets. They charge like $4 per bot, don't have all the bots from any one group, and they seem just as shoddy as my other KO's so I can't justify the price. I'm dying for a Bruticus, and Computron though.

well I have 2 KO...the Starsabre which is just about dead on...and the Lioconvoy is well...ummm...a real cheap KO lol

Where can I find a STAR-SABRE KO?!

IMO, the Walgreen's multi colored (pride?) Devastator is of excellent quality. I picked it up last year and I was instantly surprised at how solid it is built.

The Menasor Set was the best plastic I got so far, the two technobots are really nice. Most of the figures in this set actually are pretty cool stand alone. I do wish they would make a complete computron though. That was my favorite gestault ever. I plan to get all these knockoffs. Heck if I liked beast machines/Wars Big Lots has a lot of seemingly great knockoffs They had this metalic purple dragon megatron for like $10.00 They also had a lot of Gundam looking knockoffs too but I have to keep my robot collection focus on TFs cause I just dont have that much shelf space.

Although If they make Megas figures I'll probably get that (Cartoon Network has a special megas robot you can buy online but I want some of the characters too)

it pops up on e-bay a couple times...there is also a Deathsaurus and a Double Dealer KO as well out there...I got mine at OTFCC, they usually go around $20. It's dead on, has the brain master parts and everything

I picked up the Doubledealer KO for 3$...but it's useful to qualify that by saying I'm in China... ;) It is by far the best KO I've ever seen - better than many Hasbro products.
