There was demand for Decepticon Alts and Hasbro like any SANE business met it. And give some credit where its due, they took G1 road Decepticons and made them Alts, not something more name recognizable yet illogical for Alts like Starscream

 

thats why back in the late 80's and early 90's transformers failed in the U.S.A. because hasbro was killing it with the nonsense and in japan takara had the real deal. hasbro reading this now i can see why you lost the license to batman and starting line-ups failed.

Like Takara is any better with repaints. No scratch that they're worse. Let's see some of their great ideas:

"HEY I KNOW! LETS MAKE COUNTLESS BLACK, CLEAR AND NEON EDITIONS OF EVERYTHING!"

 

But see its not takara's doing its hasbro the whole re-paint and the doing on tracks and deadend is hasbro watch takara wiil have a blue tracks and dead end will noit have sunstreakers head.

 

Got any proof of that? Who's to say they will even HAVE Decepticon BTs? Have you even read the BT story? Decepticons are not involved and since bad guys don't sell well in Japan they probably won't even bother....

 

After what they did with SL Galvatron, they'd probably shrink the mold if anything :tflaugh

Even though Dead End is sweetness, i have 2 beefs with it,

1) the mold and head should have been held on reserve for Sunstreaker, just like everybody else has been saying

 

2)if they were gonna use the viper for a stunticon, it should have been breakdown, he was the same kind of car as Sideswipe and Sunstreaker anyway

I don't think Dodge would appreciate their car being called Breakdown, but that's just a guess...

I agree Deadends colors look nice, but in bot form he does look slightly "heavy". Tracks well I am not too thrilled that he doesn't have the "wings" he use to have. The doors are like pants or clanky Japanese armor IMO. Oh well. :tftounge

Tracks looks great. I knew that it would look good once all of its parts were painted. Never trust a prototype. :thumb

 

Even though I don't like Sideswipe, I might get Dead End.

Point one) if Hasbro had named it Megatron, Starscream, etc, you'd be there on the front line, defending the choice. So please, don't tell us you think it's illogical because you'd defend it.

 

Point two) yeah, it died in Japan too, but it lasted MUCH longer. The cartoon didn't burn out in 3 years, and the toyline in 5.

 

Point three) yeah, you may think Hasbro's doing a good job, but not everyone wants to sacrifice their first-born to Aaron Archer like you seem to. In fact, I'd prefer he be fired and replaced with someone who shows a degree of competence. And if you think my not buying everything they make is a sin... well, I've already denounced God, so I have no problem being called a sinner by anyone. Especially not by Hasbro fanboys.

 

Point four) Universe Primal, Prime, and Ramjet. Hell, most of Universe. But you probably keep those by your toilet for "special time" too. I bet Hasbro could package a My Little Pony in a TF box and you'd say it was a great choice.

 

I'm not buying Tracks because a)I don't much care for yellow card and b)far too much yellow period. I won't buy Dead End because a) it's clearly Sunstreaker and b)the proto had an Autobot insignia, so this is clearly a middle finger. I know Archer despises G1. I hope that doesn't OFFEND the toy gods too bad.

Still quick breakdown of your so called points:

1. Don't put words in my mouth. I wouldn't support it. When news of Decepticon Alts first broke out, I didn't even acknolwedge the possibility of non ground Decepticons becoming Alts. I said it would be Stunticons and Swindle. Don't give me the bs that I would defend anything Hasbro does, thats crap. You can play the what if game all you want, doesn't prove Blot

 

2.Ok, WHY did it last much longer? Lets look at this, US got the movie before Season 3, watched some of their favorites die and fans became disenchanted with the franchise by the time Season 3 came around

 

Japan didn't get the movie till years later and went straight to Season 3. Had the movie been shown there before Season 3, who's to say how much longer G1 would have lasted in Japan?

 

The point is US fans killed G1, not Hasbro as Season 3 did just fine in Japan with the same show/toys.

 

3. What is it with you and Aaron Archer? You seem to have a deathwish for him. Is he perfect? Nobody is. Is he doing a damn good job giving fans what they want and being involved with fandom? YES. Look at the head designer for Joe and He Man and see how their head designers treat the franchise....

 

Who the hell are you to say he's incompetent? Transformers is a top five toy brand in the US so he's doing SOMETHING right isn't he? Don't give me crap about him being imcompetent, PROVE IT!

 

4. I don't get much beast formers period so I didn't get Primal. Don't own Prime and I want nothing to do with Ramjet (look up my posts on him on ADCTALK if you don't believe me) as for the rest of Universe, its your opinion its crap. Its still selling well so obviously most people don't have a problem with it....

 

Dont want to get Tracks simply because he isn't blue? Fine, more for the rest of us who aren't that nitpicky as to deny ourselves a perfectly good mold simply becuase he doesn't have the same color as 20 years ago. ALTERNATORS IS NOT G1. It has G1 influences but its not supposed to be G1 verbatium so stop whinning. Oh and how the hell would you know if Archer hates g1? PROVE IT!

 

As for proto, it was a nameless proto that everyone assumed was Sunstreaker. Hasbro never said "We're making Sunstreaker" so its not like Dead End replaced him. Sunstreaker probably will be released later in the year so he's not on the shelves the same time as Tracks (as Alts so far are keeping dif colors)
