Interesting. It's nice to see that the writer is being so scrupulous about maintaining continuity with G1. Although it will be interesting to see how he explains the fact that Sunstreaker, Wheeljack, Hound, and Bluestreak all appear in TF:TM in their original bodies... not to mention Grimlock!

BTW it should be mentioned that Shaun Berger JUNIOR is not the same person that appeared in "Megatron's Master Plan." That would have been Shaun Berger SENIOR, who would never have made another alliance with the Decepticons after what happened to him in that episode. Most likely this guy in the Binaltech story is his pissed-off son or something.

I say we change the name of this topic to:

"The Idiot's Guide to the Binaltech/Alternator's Storyline!" :D

Good job on pulling it all together, Nevermore! Nicely done!

not to mention all the dinobots were destroyed, hmm guess that Devastator fight was my imagination, poor Kup and Rodimus, who's going to save them from being innocent :tfevil

Ichikawa-san intentionally left a backdoor for undoing the effects of every piece of the story once it might be closing in on an end. As for Grimlock, his old body is still (more or less) in one piece, but it can't be used unless a cure can be found. Same for the rest of the Dinobots.

Interestingly enough, someone at 2005 Boards just specualted that this "cure" could even explain the personality changes of the Dinobots between season 2 and TF:TM.

I initially assumed the same. However, Shawn Berger is never referred to as either "jr." nor "sr." in "Megatron's Master Plan", thus it's not impossible this IS supposed to be the same character. Plus, the bit about him says his "life was totally screwed up by the Transformers". Wouldn't really make sense if it was "only" his son.

After all, the Concurrence is planning to eventually drive ALL Transformers of the planet, thus the Decepticons, from his irrational point of view, would probably make more sense as allies. This is the same mentality that made Demona (from "Gargoyles") go "What have I... What have they done?"

You might want to note that for the Live Action TF movie, the director has said that he's already very excited about using some of the Alternator/Binaltech modes.

Heck, I'm sure it helps save his design team from re-inventing the wheel, so to speak.

Not to start a flame war or anything, but I'd love to hear the people who were so adamant about saying "ALT/BINAL ISN'T GEEEWUN....!!!!"

Where are you guys now?

lol i agree but i bet some one (bodycount most likly) will say thats just the Binal Tech not alinators as if thier any differant apart form lack of story and cheaper materials.

p.s gr8 stuff cant wait to see the bios of other added (ravige, wheeljack and overdrive/windcharger)

Or that fact that Hasbro hasn't even bothered to dignify the line with a story. I really hope they stick to this one as I don't think I can take another Hasbro inspired spin a TF line...look at poor Armada and Energon....

@ least the story line in Energon was better than that in Armada...

someone should start a petition to get Hasbro to make a show based on alts... that's what most of us want, right?

Nicely done Nevermore.

So if Grimlock was put in a body that featured all of the advancements of the Binaltech project, does that mean he has the GT powers as well?

Possibly. Though we haven't seen or head of a Grimlock clone yet. Maybe he has the GT technology, yet refuses to use it? :D
