Well, I wasn't talking just about first wave. RiD carried over into Armada well into the second wave, I think. And there's those funny G1 spychanger recolors that don't seem to have any line relation.

 

I'd smack someone if they made it a black repaint and called it Wheeljack :-)

Bet on it. But some recolors/retools are actually pretty neat. I got Armada Terrorsaur and Rhinox today. Terrorsaur was meh, did not like the colors. Orange and green :wtf :tfpuke

 

As for Rhinox, I own all 3 version of the Transmetal Rhinox mold and while the first one is still the best :thumb, the second one is odd :tfhuh (got in a batch auction along with several other Beast Wars/Beast Machines figures) the third release is very, very cool.

 

The face looks almost like Transmetal Rhinox and the colors are cool. The Mini-Con pegs are nicely placed (especially considering the mold was not designed for them) but the best part is that he also has a sculpted in Autobot symbol. :clap

 

Universe Razorclaw is also :thumb and Sunstorm is cool. Most of the Energon and Universe repains are just :tfpuke but occasionally there are cool ones among them.

 

The Optimus Prime/Overload set is also badly colored. Yellow? :wtf But for $30 it is a steal

I wish they would stop trying to push the friggin' mini-cons so hard in Universe! Mini-cons are of absolutely no use to me. I really wanted to get Universe Sunstorm too, but I was only willing to pay $10. Is it too much to ask for a repaint to be at it's original price-point? If anything, Universe figures should be cheaper! Instead, they just throw in a bunch of random, hideously repainted mini-cons and slap on a $20 price tag. It's ludicrous. Perceptor was and is the only stand-alone mini-con set I ever cared about having, and I do not want him to be GREEN.

Then there is the 3 headed dog Bruticus in RID that was carried over from Beast Wars/Machines. Actually it was never produced in the intended line. Although he pretty much sucks, he is one of the rarest transformers out there, having not been repainted yet.

I would like to see Arcee, Skyblast, Divebomb repaintd... i am 100% purchasing them. :D

Arcee as Elita 1

Divebomb as Cosmo type Shadowhawk

Skyblast in some sort of blue or possibly a homage to RID Skyfire

Perceptor - dunno if I actually do want a repaint of this one, maybe packed in with another figure

Insecticon as diaclone Insecticons

Downshift as Hot Rod,

Demolishor in Armada Demolishor's original colours

Snowcat - maybe some sort of desert type?

Towline as either G1 Ratchet or G1 Ironhide

Sharkticon as G1 Sharkticon

Scorponok as Black Zarak (if no other repaint is released, I want this one)

Slugslinger with just a bit more colour, mold is a little plain and I'd like to see some of the detail brought out in it. Maybe a red and black to accompany Black Zarak and the Diaclone Insecticon.
