To me Wheelie is broken down like this:

PROS:

Wheelie is a cool-looking cartoon design.

He has a really cool Tech Spec bio.

CONS:

Horrible toy.

Annoying voice and speech pattern.

Annoying "kid-type" character.

That breaks it down for me...overall I dislike him, but not nearly as much as some other TF's. But He's definitely far from my like list.

Wreck-Gar was cool for Easter Egg value... i.e., "what was that quote from?" Yeah, he was a bit annoying at times, but funnier than wheelie. To an adult anyway, IMO.

Are you going to tell the other 99% of TF fans that to.

I don't know. Maybe and maybe not. I'm not quite sure about that. But yeah, I still stand where I do about Wreck-Gar. His speech patterns are based on auido clips from TV, and he tends to use them. Some of them make sense, like when he means that something is going to work, he says the ever infamous "satisfaction guaranteed" and so on and so forth. But some of the other things that he says don't make a lick of sense whatsoever.

I agree Wheelie was annoying but Wreck-Gar was really strange. Like in the movie the first thing you hear him say is "No welcome wagon hello stranger with that new coffee flavor for you. Offer expires while you wait." I mean who among the Autobots other than Kup could have possibly had any clue as to what the heck he was saying and don`t kill me `cause I don`t remember but what happened to his army? And one of the reasons I like wheelie is because that little bot can really break dance. Did you see him dance in the movie? It was pretty good.

Hmm. I don't remember him break danc-

Oh, is that when they finish up that Weird Al song and you see a bird's eye view of the group and you see a TF spinning. Was THAT Wheelie?

I almost forgot for a minute there.

Wreck-gar would've been cool without the voice modulation. He MIGHT have been understandable without it, and what little I understood was always fun. "I'm a Pepper, wouldn't YOU like to be a Pepper too?"

I give props to the animators for making the ugliest toy into a reasonable looking show model. But that voice. YERG. And unlike Wreck-gar, it got WORSE when he lost the modulation...I think there was an ep or two with obvious voice malfunctioning, and Wheelie sounded like a whiny girl. I mean like a REAL girl. Was the person doing the voice work really a woman?

No Wheelie's voice was done by Frank Welker...the guy who did:

Megatron, Soundwave, Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, Laserbeak, Skywarp, Sludge, Mirage...and others...

Lets face it, none of the old toys looked as cool as their animated versions. Wheelie just wasn't that interesting a character and his existence stole time from the characters we'd rather have watched in the cartoon.

He is preferable over Jar Jar Binks.

"Trolley" from Mister Rogers is preferable over Jar Jar Binks.
