SORRY for the typo's i was in a hurry, but anyway, why didn't starcream build himself a body, he made the comabaticons by hand ... and was anyone else dissapionted when unicron transformers and kind of sucked, he looked soo menacing, but really was lind of lame.

Actually, all he really did was stick the Combaticons' "personality components" (no retcon here! :D) under the hoods of those vehicles, and they magically turned into non-rusted, non-old transforming robots.

BTW I think this is the first time I've ever seen a post criticizing Unicron's "reveal" in TF:TM. IMO it's one of the best sequences in the movie, especially that last shot where his head and chest form. Great animation (except for the inconsistent fu manchu, but hey).

wow, continuity just isn't a factor in the movie as much. I mean .. It starts off with the Decepticons running Cybertron. FIRST OFF ,,, the last episode of the U.S cartoon was an episode entitled "B.O.T" about 3 kids inputting brawls"combaticon" personality component into a robot they made..

The Decepticons had Cybertron ever scence Transport to oblivion.

Actually that isn't true. The war on Cybertron continued without Prime's and Megatron's crews. Shockwave referring to himself of "guardian of Cybertron" was just a reference to the role assigned to him by Megatron in MTMTE. Megatron said "I entrust Cybertron to you, Shockwave," but that didn't mean that the Decepticons actually had control of it. After all, why leave the planet if you already control it?

Regarding the TF continuity leading up to TF:TM, the movie was in production alongside the show, which is why the only gestalt in TF:TM was Devastator, and there are so few 1985 characters in the movie. If you go strictly by air / release date to determine continuity, you would have to assert that the gestalts (besides Devy) appeared in 1985, disappeared before 2005, and reappeared the following year.

But whoever said continuity was G1's strong point? :P

The animation of Unicron transforming was amazing, great, but he didn't do that much ... I actually think he was more effective as a planet ... he even had more a personality... i love the character, don't get me wrong .. I have all the rhino dvd's , i either missed the whole decepticons taking over cybertron or something ... was it hinted , or obvious , and I just really am not that observant? Or when Sunbow was making the movie, were they expecting more of a lead up to the movie in the series or something? .. i think it's time to watch season 2 parts 1&2 again !

I also get what lord madhammer is saying about shockiwave being the "gaurdian of cybetron", doesn't mean he ruled it though ....

Shockwave was Cybertrons janater, this guy lost a hand fighting Elta-1
