Energon Grimlock and Swoop

Recommended Posts

I have had kind of a nagging thought in the back of my head since I saw the news about the Grimlock & Swoop set. My only problem is that Hasbro, under whatever miraculous idea they were working on, decided to bring Grimlock and Swoop up to date, but not the other three Dinobots. Not to mention, it probably would have added to the play value of Mega Dinobot. You could make Grimlock the chest, torso, and head; Slag could become one leg and foot; Snarl could become the other leg and foot; Sludge could become one arm; Swoop could have his wings detach and his body itself could become the other arm and the wings go on the back giving Mega Dinobot the ability of flight.

Are any of you guys bothered by the fact that not only did they not do this, but Hasbro never even released another Brontosaurus dinobot/maximal dinobot like figure after G2 Sludge.

You can thank the Pres. of Hasbro for the not having the others. I love your plan sounds great. As for Sludge I want him back as a Brontosaurus, I never had him so I take is no matter the color. It sucks only having 2 out of 5 Dinobots.

There is no such dinosaur as a Brontosaurus...so it would be pretty stupid to make one now. Besides this, these toys were scrapped from the early development of the Cybertron toyline, so we're lucky they even produced them at all....

Actually, they were originally meant for Universe before being placed into Energon.

Revolution!!! Uh...actually, as long as your not knocking the pair, I can shut up. Been gettin' trigger happy after all those "I got Grimlock and Swoop and pooped on them because they are stupid children's toys" threads.

That combiner idea ain't so bad, mastermin. And...E. Grim and Swoop are still cool.

That's what I thought. And regarding what Bodycount said, according to bwtf.com, the review for them stated that they were indeed supposed to be released under the Universe flag, but Hasbro decided instead that since for collectors, they were familiar in concept, that they should be "upgraded" and released under the Energon flag instead. But still, they should have done two things.

1: Sell the four limbs as mega sized double packs like they're doing already, except it would be Slag and Sludge in one box, and Swoop and Snarl in another; then release Grimlock in a deluxe sized package all by himself

2: make them a little more G1 looking, and by that I don't mean blocky, I like the somewhat streamlined look, but I'm talking about color schemes.

1. :thumb

2. Uh, no. They're fine the way they are. That's what makes them ENERGON. :tdown

i got them. i hate them. i am going to kit bash them.

They are definatly like a playschool, 6 month old +, toy that should be in one of the dora the explorer playsets. They plastic is flimsy, the combined mode sucks (besides the fact when they are "combined" they just want to fall apart) the individual bot modes suck. all in all they are only a waste of 20 bucks unless you need spare parts to bash with.

I bounced the idea around in my head about getting this set, but I've heard nothing but grief about it.. and the pictures haven't been doing much for me.. so thats $20 I just saved :bounce

BC ever hear about the Apatasaurus, its old name was Brontosaurus.

Back in the 80's they change the name because it had the wrong head.

Check an older dinosaur book if you dont belive me.
