Energon Silverstreak & Bombshell

Recommended Posts

I've decided to buy two Energon Hot Shot figures. One to keep as Hot Shot, and one to repaint into Bluestreak. It just make's a whole lot of sense. I just need to be able to have reference to Bluestreak for the Repaint to work, so that's it. I also plan on repainting some parts of my regular Hot Shot from Energon into Bumblebee. Then I'll have two G1 figures, and one Energon figure.

For your Energon Silverstreak/Bluestreak, did you leave the silver and just apply some black and red, or did you paint over that too.

do you mind if other members mimic your silverstreak???

i'm REALLY intrigued to try it!

That's really cool looking. I was thinking of getting rid of my e-insecticon... but now i think i'll mimic you if that's ok :D

Mimic away my friend. :) Of course I love the E-Insecticon mold. Sure he could have used a little more articulation, but he just looks like a short and squatty powerhouse. Kind of like ol Brawn.

Here's what I did for mine. I used pieces from both the yellow Hot Shot and the silver Energon one.

I left the silver car body the way it was and the red parts alone as well.

I used the grayish blue parts (head, feet, back plate) from the yellow Hot shot since the silver I used to paint it seemed to cover that better. I also did this because the face was not silver on the yellow Hot Shot. Technically you could use all the yellow parts from the sivler Hot Shot instead, but I had a spare normal one use.

I also used the headlights and windshield from the yellow Hot Shot.

Other than that I just repainted everything to follow the gang molding pattern Hasbro used. Well I didn't actually follow it on the forearms. If I had of followed it the forearms should be all silver, not just the hands. I figured Hasbro could always paint the forearms the way I did if it came down to it. :)

Everything dark blue (tires, legs, chest, etc.) are black.

Everything the light grayish blue is silver.

Everything that was red was left red.

I just added red detail like the tail lights, the front and back of the lower legs, lower chest, head fin thing, and the vent things on the front and sides of the car. Then I painted the bumpers, hood, and roof black.

Hope that helps ya some.

If the Universe comic was still going I'd try to convince them to use these guys. :)

Go right ahead. The more people that can give love to the ugly little Hot Shot mold the better. However, if you get famous from it you remember where it came from! :tflaugh

Also I forgot to say it in my last posts but thank you to everyone for the kind words!

Something's confusing me. Did you dismantle the Energon and regular Hot Shots and combine various parts and stuff. Also, which body did you use primarily. Was it the Energon Hot Shot figure. And for the black, did you just paint over the flames on the hood on the silver one.

Got to go. I'll ask more later.

I took them both apart and combined the pieces.

Energon Hot Shot I used:

Silver car body

All the red parts (joints and spoiler)

The dark blue parts (legs, chest, tires, grill, and engine). Painted black

Let me make a correction from an earlier post. I also used the yellow waist, forearms, and back plate from the silver Hot Shot as well and painted them silver.. I did this because some of the red joint pieces where connect to these pieces and I didn't want to try and remove them.

Yellow Hot Shot I used:

Grayish blue parts (head and feet). Painted silver. You really only need to use the head from the yellow Hot Shot unless you want the silver face the Energon Hot Shot offers.

The headlights and windshield. This is the only real thing I wanted from the yellow Hot Shot since I didn't want red lights and windshield.

As for the flame deco on the hood I got a bottle of paint thinner that you can find with the model paints at a Wal Mart. I took several Q-tips, dipped them, and just rubbed in circles until the flame paint started coming off. I'd wipe clean and repeat until it was all gone. I also did this to the yellow paint around the windsheild pieces.

So essentially I used most of the silver Energon Hot Shot to make this. I got a little confused since I started this project back before I knew about the silver Energon Hot shot, and already had quite a bit painted. Once I saw preveiw pics of the silver one I put this project on hold until it came out.

I was planning a Prowl repaint, but I have moved onto something different and he's been put on the back burner.

If you've got any more question feel free to ask. I'll do my best to help ya out. :)
