wrestling doesn't owe anything to the 80's vince mcmahon's father started the wwf/wwe 55 years ago it was big when our grand parent's were kid's.vince mcmahon just made it more interesting ok I'm not trying to start anything so,please forgive me.

The WWF got kicked off in the 1960's by Vince MacMahon's father (Vince McMahon Sr.) It is called the WWWF (WorldWide Wrestling Federation), and their style of wrestling is much different than the goofy style of today. There were no weird personalities (clowns, mounties, insane Iraqies, etc.) there were just normal guys in serious matches. But in the early 1980's, the federation was passed on to Vince Jr., and all that changed. He used a style of wrestling that was much more exiting and the WWF became world renound..... when it was started, the basis of it was centered around Hulk Hogan. The match where he faced the champion the Iron Shiek (who was an Olympic champion at the time) was probably the most know match of all-time. Hogan won and held the belt for a LONG time.....a few years...

 

the 1960s is hardly "55 years ago", and it was Vince's dad. Vince, Jr, took over in the 80s, and that's when it became really popular. (against all sane logic.. but, of course, wrestling has nothing to do with sanity or logic. But that's a whole other argument. :))

 

As I said before, WWF is a product of the 80s, and should really be dropped and gotten over. :tflaugh

Some of the Universe stuff is good. Most of it is just as crappy as it was the first time around. *shrug*

 

Energon Prime sucks big ones. When the SuperCon "bendy" version (smaller, without that awful trailer) shows up here, I'll be getting it and kitbashing it with bendy Armada Prime, so I can have a decent Optimus for my Energon collection.

 

Megatron is well worth his $40.

 

I didn't like Ruination (or whomever he is) the first time(s) I saw him. I don't like him now. The individual bots are crippled to make them double-transform into Ruination's body/limbs and, as such, aren't that great. Ruination, himself, just looks awkward and ungainly.

 

Most of the Energon line so far is fantastic, and from what I've seen of upcoming figures, is just getting better.

 

Alternators kick all ass, and $19.99 for the all-plastic Hasbro versions isn't too bad.

 

Masterpiece Convoy/20th Anniversary Optimus Prime owns Alternators.

well i just want to get in on this before its closed or whatever...but Galvatron2004, i work at TRU, and im there almost 5 days a week so i see exactly how TF's sell and how Wrestling figures sell adn i gotta say, Transformer toys are kicking the Shiznit out of the WWE figures, adn here is why. Transformers can TRANSFORM, kids love it, they think its a challenge, an dhopefully this isnt offending anyone when i say this but, you look at the type of ppl who come buy the wrestling figures and they are all rednecks. We have been requested by parents (and even did for a while) stop carrying WWE figures, cause its NOT a kids show, its 14A (here atleast) so parents dont see the point of having them at our store. TF also is for ALL ages. Energon is for kids...if you dont like it, well thats understandable, its not aimed at you! its aimed at kids! you said it yourself you like alternators..GOOD! cause that IS aimed at you! oh and one last thing...at least transformers has changed over the years, wrestling is basically the same thing day in day out
