Hasbro Does Not Condone Third Party Work, Will Never Work With Them

Hasbro, Inc has finally come out and said it: they do not condone the work of the third party shops and they will never work with them. Asked during the question and answer session at Transformers Cybertron Con 2012 over the weekend, Hasbro has finally publicly taken a stand against the custom shops, but did not specify if or when they were going to take legal action. This is the first time that Hasbro has taken a stand like this. They have previously said that they don't work with these shops and do not see any type of relationship in the future. Takara Tomy started exploring legal options last April against various shops, among them iGear, TFC Toys, and PerfectEffect. How do you feel about these turn of events? Let us know if the comments. Forcing 3rd party companies to close shop won't make me buy Hasbro toys that I didn't want in the first place. As far as I'm concerned, there's no monetary advantage for Hasbro if all the 3rd party companies went away. All they would do is save me some money, in addition to the money I'm saving by not buying their products.

Your loss, Hasbro :shrug

Then get it right or pay the price! FOC Bruticus looks to be a step in the right direction, but let's not have another Ultra errr Optimus Magnus repaint!

No suprise there, it is IP theft after all. I don't buy them myself (add ons sometimes). I don't mind when others do though, some are neat.

ok, so, Hasbro, Takara, make combiners in sizes that appeal to the market, like Devastator made out of 6 deluxe size(at least) transformers. And make upgrade armor/weapon sets. No? Ok, guess there will be a 3rd Party toy industry for a long time then even though it is clearly an infringement on your intellectual properties.

FoC Bruticus is definetly a step in the right direction. Keep stepping, you might get there.

Hasbro can't do anything about it. All they own are the names and trademarks. Hasbro pays Takara to make a mold for their character. In fact, it says right there on the package they license the toy molds from Takara. Anything else is legally NOT that character. So I guess technically, the third party guys can legally do what Hastak won't!

:hawhaw

Your loss, Hasbro :shrug

Agreed. There's just so much more beneficiality coming from a joint effort rather than destroying another company for your own gains. AND might I add that if your (Hasbro's) product could get to the shelves without being CANCELED or lost or giving us what we want in the first place then you'd not have anything to worry about from third parties!

It's not that we don't want your products you know. Bring us more! Like the ones that are Japan exclusives now? The Scouts and all the others.

Snuffing the competition is not the answer.

Asking these types of questions to hasbro & takara at conventions is trolling by the fans.

Hasbro & Takara can't take any legal action against these 3rd party TF toy companies for the following reasons: (1) most of them are located in the KO capital of the world. where anything goes & they can't be sued. (2)the 3rd party company are using non-TF toy names. they can't be sued because their not using actual TF persona names on their prioducts. (3)these 3rd party companies are using their own self created designs for the toys. hasbro nor takara can't sue because they never created the design these 3rd party TF toy companies are using.

Igear is however using takara/hasbro designs for those MP seekers. Igear is using a smaller scale MP Convoy so since it's a smaller mold they might not be able to get sued by hasbro nor takara.

hasbro/Takara was un-successful in the past at suing those KO toy companies that have been in existance since 1984.

Hasbro In Court: Your Honor. We would like to you declare it illegal for someone to make a better product than us.
