breaking Transformers figures

Recommended Posts

Something will cut the screw. Try a good set of wire strippers. Get the kind that has the screw holes at the base of the cutters. You can screw in screws of various sizes and cut them to the desired length. Just make sure you screw it in on the correct side. It wont cut thick screws but just about any standard/smaller screw.

How thick are we talking, exactly?

Depends on the wire stripper. The one I use for work will only accept really thin screws. It wasnt made for bigger ones. But I've seen some nice ones that'll do larger. I couldn't give you a specific size, I'm not sure. Just next time your in Home Depot or Lowe's just check 'em out. You'll be able to see them in the packaging and each hole should have a size written on them.

Also when you do it guys, you have to put some muscle into it. You won't break the wire strippers, they're supposed to be that way.

The first one just says screws of popular sizes. The second one shows no specifics but you can see the holes for this in the picture and that they have sizes labelled on them. But the pic won't zoom in clear enough to see what the size is. I suggest going in person and having a look for yourself to see if you can find something to suit your needs.

The only TF I ever broke was BW TM Megatron. He was on of my favorites at the time. I was transforming him (carefully as always) and the transformation hinge on his arm broke off. I tried everything to fix it , but his arm keeps falling off. Still pissed off about that -_-.

HA! I had that same thing happen with mine but it was at his hip! I was so dissappointed about that because he's still one of my favorites! Ah well, at least I still have Cryotech! :)

BM deluxe Optimus has a break in the joint that combines his waist to his chest and I have a Beast Wars Binobot (Stegosaurus...can't remember his name at the moment) whose wing just ...snapped off in transformation! Still have no idea how THAT happened. One of the reasons why I still wished I had the means to still collect tripplicates of each figure.

So i started setting up my Transformers room in my house. I successfully set up the G1 figures with out a hitch and started on Alternators. Sure enough, 2 of them break in transformation....well 1 did. I broke the foot off of Hound. I've transformed him 100 times! I'm so mad at myself. The other figure was Rodimus....who up until now was MISB. I didn't even get him out of the box and his door went flying off. This wasn't even my fault! So mad.

I'm sure everyone has broken a toy by accident. Get it out in the open!

In other news, any one have a junker Alternator Rodimus or Hound??!!?

Recently,My alternators wheeljack wheel just broke off the axle. I didn't even transform it,i just moved it from one area to the next.

I think my MP-05 megatron came slightly broken from the manufactoring plant. as my megatron always had super loose hip joints. I tried to crazy glue the joints but I wound up ruining the figure. now I've gotta use it for spare parts when i do customs or kitbashes. I don't want to throw the toy in the thrash. because their is so many parts I can use towards kitbashes or customs.

I recently broke off a thorax/shoulder pad piece off of TM2 Black Arachnia.

Toy is uber cool in both modes, but the plastic hinges for the thorax pieces are inadequate for the tension of rotating that joint in/out. Kinda pissed
