Being the big 80s geek I am, I was giddy when I found out that Mill Creek got the rights for the 80s animated show C.O.P.S. and announced they were releasing all 65 episodes. Better yet, the first half only cost me $6! Anyhow, to answer the question in the topic title, I started watching and found that Duane Capizzi produced a good chunk of the C.O.P.S. episodes. Come to find out he also produced a bunch of the Batman and M.I.B. animated episodes as well.

Small world, eh?

Also, C.O.P.S. was another Hasbro toy franchise. Several C.O.P.S. toys/characters share the same names as some Transformers including:

+ Barricade

+ Nightstick

+ Longarm

+ Inferno

+ Big Boss

+ Checkpoint

...etc.

Also, the C.O.P.S. toy bios were written by Larry Hama, and while he's not known for Transformers, Transformers obviously have close ties and a history with G.I. Joe.

Larry Hama...sounds like the same Larry Hama that wrote the mini series of Marvel's Sabretooth. I have a Sabretooth #1 autographed by him. C.O.P.S. was a kick-ass show too. Loved watching that.

I remember having to hang out with this kid down the road to watch COPS at his house, since my mom wouldn't let me watch it. :tflaugh
