  1. why call them combiners when they didn't even combine? waste of effort, if you ask me.
  2. JT-Prime

    TF:Prime Ratchet

    Got him yesterday. No issues
  3. Energon 2003 ultra & leader sized megatron/galvatron had the same detail & same parts. nothing new was added nor taken away. all that was done was make one toy ultra sized while the other was leader sized. so clearly it can be done this way. bandai, macross, toynami, also do this all the time with their different sized robotech valkyre toys. You completely missed the mark in reading what I posted. In Energon, they made an Ultra-sized Megatron and then a smaller version of the figure, which was released with a smaller Optimus Prime that can combine with the other deluxes of that lineup. To reiterate my point, Hasbro made one mold of the Ultra size, which featured a good amount of detail and a ton of other elements that made that figure just a badass in it's own right. The smaller version was made out of a completely different mold. It was scaled down, and some details were omitted to make the figure work. Two molds for two differently sized figures. How you ultimately come to point of it being one mold is beyond me. As I said....you missed the mark.
  4. It's not exactly using the same mold when you talk about scale. If a company releases a product built to a 1:32 scale, then later on releases a similar product in a 1:24, you would have two different molds. The 1:32 scale would use less detailing due to it's smaller size. It would also use less parts and resources to manufacture it. The 1:24 would require more parts and resources due to the amount of detail you can now place in the product. There would be a vast amount of differences, different safety specifications and tests performed, and a quantified difference in parts, raw material and resources used. This alone isn't cost-effective for toy companies like Hasbro, despite their bigger budget. What's cost-effective for Hasbro is to take an existing mold in an existing scale and change a few minor details (head, hands, weapons, paint scheme and other miniscule details). That is what's cost-effective for them. They've been doing that practice for many years now, and they feel it's what works for them. Will we ever get them to change practice? Probably not.

Transfan2 may just be a quiet guy, who has a shitload of stuff he hauls in on the daily, but he's just doing what this thread says to do...share our hauls with everyone.
