Does Walmart Know something we don"t?!?

Recommended Posts

So I went to my Local Wally world today and noticed that they were breaking down all the main Isle Transformers DOTM displays. When I asked the employee who was breaking them down why they were doing it they stated that they weren't getting any more toys. While I hope that this employee was wrong I did end up getting some cool display pieces.

Those displays are awesome and the Hasbro rep must've pissed off the store manager or something. I can't imagine this being a nationwide ban on DOTM toys.

I myself am trying to score some Captain America signage as soon as our store is done with them.

Maybe your local Wallyworld is going out of business. :lol

Anywho, nothing like that here. I made a strangely odd trip to a Wal-Mart (twice in two weeks....I usually go months inbetween trips.) and they had swapped out their DOTM aisle display for another movie (Think it was Green Lantern.) toyline, and was setting up DOTM on an endcap up near the jewelry section.

I've been seeing Walmarts not only setting up DOTM cardboard islands in the walkways, but setting up an endcap near the store entrances as well. Methinks your source is clueless.

See I was thinking that too. With the movie not out yet why break them down. Maybe this employee was just mistakened. Either way their mistake was my gain. Now just need to figure out what to do with them. Can't set them up as the person cut off the actual shelf sections with their box cutter. Hmm maybe I can hang them up like pictures.

He probably just meant that they weren't getting anymore in for the xtra displays they had up, not that no more were coming in at all.

It's safe to say the average Walmart shelf stocker doesn't know much about the stuff they're stocking. I know that whole week I worked at Walmart, my brain was completely off as I was just counting down the hours. I even use Clorox and was a zombie about it!

At some point this week, my area walmart quadrupled the shelf space of DOTM toys. After the initial 1/3 or 1/4 of a row and two endcaps, they added an entire row at the other end of the toy section. There were a LOT of bumblebees hanging around there.

Lot of Voyager Primes at stores I sampled the past few days.
