I'm a little curious as to why Tformers feels like it needs a ton of Facebook people on here. And your not going to get them because this is not a social networking site. Add more ways to connect to other members and remove Transformers from the equation and then maybe. But until then this is a forum with a speciality. Bound to get a lot of curious people especially around movie time that aren't interested enough to join. Does Tformers really contribute THAT much to ENI? New members are great but I definitely don't feel alone here. I like our community and the fact I recognize almost everybody. Especially when it comes to things like making transactions and trades, almost all the people on here are trustworthy and fun to talk/argue with. (Animated Soundwave is awesome. :S) I can't say I'd be happy to have a bunch of one-post-and-done members or worse: more spammers. Just need Liege to come back and things will be back to normal.

Its not "facebook" people. Its just people. There's so many more of them we really are obligated to open things up. As Blitz-Wing pointed out, you guys are hardly on the news site. So we all have to be thankful to the lurkers who carry the ball on covering the hosting expenses by looking at the ADs.

As for other issues about layout and stuff. Again, that's a lot of heavy lifting for what I am sure you guys will dish out probably twice as many complaints about what ever we change. So I am really apprehensive to go there. Sorry, but its become very hard to deal with you guys as a group when each of you wants to be treated as an individual. I am pretty sure a lot of you would find this situation really frustrating as well. So why not start opening up here some and at very least making the staff's life a little easier? Please.

I see your point BaCon,

can't we just have both options?

i mean.. it's starting to just feel like you're alienating your members.

i used to post on pretty much every story here.. now i just pick an choose because it's a hassle. i know having to read a story, then click the forums, then the sub forums, then looking for the topic doesn't sound like it should be a hassle, but after a while it is.

out of all of the TF news sites this one is my favorite.. so it sucks admitting that posting on here is a hassle.

Strange as it may sound to some, there are people who do not like visiting forums. I can't tell you in a month's time, as I sample postings here, how many people say "been a fan, but I just had to create a forum account to comment on this"... then you never see them again in here. Forums are like MySpace, they're a dying breed. Look around. It's all about tweets and Facebooking. Bacon has spelled it out time and time again... but no one listens.

BaCon does value the members here and their input. Why else would he post on here as much as he has? But reality is reality. There is a MUCH larger market that needs to be tapped and he would not be a savvy businessperson if he didn't try to tap into it. This isn't anything personal or some attempt to alienate members. This is solely a business decision.

You can please some people all the time

You can please all people some of the time

You can't please all people all the time

All we ask is that you bear with us while we try to find a solution that will yield the greatest compromise.

You know we love you guys. So it is always a hard decision how to keep a balance. If I had it my way facebook and twitter would not exist. Anywho, GOOD NEWS! After a lot of thinking and some tinkering. I have come up with what I hope will make everyone happy. :thumb

I am going to add an button that allow you to choose to show Disqus or Forums comments on the news articles. A cookie setting will retain your choice on all posts thereafter. I am still doing some testing. But it should be done soon. I will make a board wide post to announce it when the feature has been added. Does that work for you all?

Works for me...anything to log in and quickly find the proper thread to comment on! :thumb

I don't take it personally, I understand it's a business. I also don't expect to be individually served. But the "hassle" that Timothy hit on is pretty much why I posed the discussion of this thread.

BTW, I think I would fall into the 'internet junkie' category: TFormers, Facebook, blog, Ebay, the whole gambit! :thumb

RAAAAAAAAHHH!!!

JASON X SICK OF BEING REASONABLE!!!!!

JASON X SMASH PUNY FORUMS WITH ANGER PUNCHES!!!!!

Seriously guys, they're working on it. If you like the site as much as I do be patient and give them a minute. Besides trying to fix this, Blitz and BaCon have to tend to the daily operations of this site. I'm sure this'll be resolved soon enough.

Yes please, that would be nice.

You guys are awesome and I used to come to Tfomers.com for years before even becoming a forum member. I don't even know when I joined and became more active in the forums. The news page was my mainstay and is still my main point of entry.
