It actually looks like a good movie.

 

Whoa there buddy! Lets not pull that trigger just yet. ROTF's trailer looked AWESOME. It totally set the tone for some revenge which obviously the movie failed to deliver. Trailers are made to sell tickets but they dont always tell the truth.

 

What the hell was that thing tearing up the streets? Kind of looked like that submarine snake bot concept thing from ROTF. Cant wait to not get a figure of him.

 

 

This is true, ROTF didn't really have a great story line but the action was there, however i prefer the first movie in 07, and also of course 1985. Yeah and i don't have a clue what that squid looking thing was but it was pretty cool.

I dont count the original film in with any of the live action stuff. It gets its own category. 07 was the better of the two and I hope that DOTM is much better then ROTF, just not getting those hopes up too high. And action a good movie doesn't make. ROTF is the best example. If anything about 50% of that action was terrible to watch. Too much shaky camera syndrome drives me nuts.

I don't want to get too excited, I don't want to fall into that "OMG BEST THING EVER" state where I get my hopes up.....but...dammit I'm doing it again!

 

The trailer just looks sick, it's got the one thing in it I believe most of us wanted to see, a full out invasion! More then likely brought with by our friendly neighborhood Shockwave :P

 

But here's one thing that impresses me with this trailer, and maybe it also is a signal that this movie will be good.

 

Count the amount of new bots in the Superbowl trailer for ROTF and the one for DOTM.

 

ROTF: Sideways, Ravage, Demolishor/Scavenger, and to an extent Arcee who may've been in the background.

DOTM: Laserbeak.

 

They showed the story they're going with, the full blown invasion, not just trying to show us the new bots we'll be getting. Idk, but I actually have a good feeling about this one.

 

Oh, and I doubt that is Prime's trailer in the Superbowl ad, if Prime is that big and he turns into a trunk, there's no way the trailer just transforms into a jetpack and gun.

Final thought: I will of course see this movie, but I hope the toys get better further in the line. Big honking weapons/add on gimmicks at the sacrifice of good Transformers sucks. Didn't you lean anything from PCC Hasbro?

All out assault looks awesome, I'm sure they learned from ROTF. But still this looks way better then ROTF

Grimlock-imus, you forgot that the Twins, Devastator (and by extension 5 or arguably 6 of his components), Scrapper and all 3 motorcycle sisters were in the ROTF trailer. Well maybe not the initial teaser but the main full-length trailer did. Oh and Jetfire. And Alice. And Insecticons. And Reedman. Ok I think thats all of them.

 

EDIT: I think The Doctor was in there too swiping at Sam's face. OH! And Sidewswipe.

Count the new bots? There are none. The ones you listed were all in the previous movies. A few of which 'died' That doesn't say invasion to me. That says "same bots who were here last time."

Those tentacles look like the tentacles Soundwave had in ROTF when he was hacking into the US Satellite.....
