I'd rather try to find a reasonable reason why Hasbro wont do GI Joe crossovers

Maybe its because theres no 3rd party paying for the use of the TF logo.

LOL

They started with Grand Patriot though and Knight Morpher even without the logo LOL

With how badly G.I. Joe seems to be doing lately, it could use a boost from the Transformers brand.

Is that legit??

And I think you misunderstood me.

Hasbro gets some case, dont know how much, when other companies use the TF logo.

Third Parties don't necessarily pay Hasbro any money though. I'm sure Impossible Toys does, but I doubt Fansproject does

Your assuming that I mean "fan companies" when I say 3rd party.

I'm talking about Marvel and others.

Marvel paid Hasbro for the comic license and Hasbro pays marvel for the toy license. I don't consider Marvel a third party either. Maybe a second party, since it takes two separate companies to license product to each other

To me a third party is a company that reproduces ie create, release an unofficial product directly related to the original owning company product. Without consent or pay a small fee to the owning company.

Best I can explain with how sleepy I am right now, Good night I'm going to bed

Maybe I should have said "2nd party".

Either way, the point I was trying to make is that a cross over between GIjoe and TF would be an internal cross over since both are owned by Hasbro.

BTW, Good nite.

Maybe political considerations within Hasbro are keeping an official Joe/TF toyline from happening? Like the GI Joe or TF teams don't want to do it in the first place.

Maybe people on those other forums just said yes, because everyone's busy with Thanksgiving? :shrug

Doubful.

I got some pretty insightful post.

What's with the desperation to prove your point about Animorphs Transformer branding, anyway? Is there an Animorph revival we missed?

Theres no "desperation" in play here at all.

So you say. I'm just not sure why you have to play the card that "TFormers is outnumbered and therefore wrong" to try and change people's minds. A majority opinion isn't always right.

There may be a conflict as to how to make G.I. Joe Transformers.

Some fans would like classic G.I. Joe vehicles as Transformers that could be used with the action figures. I don't think that should be. For one, it would keep G.I. Joe Transformers limited to smaller vehicles. Plus, the compromises needed to make the toy as both a vehicle and a robot may result in design compromises anyway, defeating the purpose of this kind of toy line.

On the other hand, G.I. Joe Transformers could be just Transformer characters as classic G.I. Joe vehicles in scales that are typical for Transformers. I think that is what a G.I. Joe Transformers toy line should be.

Hasbro might think that G.I. Joe Transformers should be based on newer vehicles or new ones designed just for that toy line. This would be very unfortunate.

Unfortunately, Star Wars and Marvel Transformers are all made in one single scale at one price point. G.I. Joe Transformers would need something better than that. Such a toy line needs to be treated as a normal line of Transformers, no different than Generations or movie toys.
