The first figure I got was Sideswipe, I can see it as if it happened yesterday, the day they hit the shelves I mowed the lawn so that my parents would go out and buy me one of the "big Go-Bots"

 

Mirage. Broke it within like two minutes of opening it. First toy I didn't break was Cosmos. Have the little guy to this day.

G1 Megatron, G1 Jazz and G1 Soundwave... all for Christmas in 1983. Man, my new grandparents wanted to spoil me :lol

Diaclone or Diakron?

I started out with some machine wars stuff way back in the day...I was a wee little baby so I can't remember...but the first figure I remember was Tarantulus(sp?)from Bw

 

His name was originally Tarantulus but because practically all the voice actors from Beast Wars kept pronouncing it Tarantulas, they changed his name accordingly. I still type it Tarantulus tho.

The First I remember was a BW Frog (I think Spittor????) or Magnaboss.

My first Transformer was G1 Optimus Prime. I was a little stubborn as a kid, because even though I could've chosen from lots of other transformers (because they were cheaper, so I could get them faster), I worked my butt off doing chores for a couple weeks and eventually bought him. Then, one day, being the stupid kid that I was, I thought he was seriously invincible, and threw him at the wall. His leg broke off and I just fell to my knees like NOOOOOO!!!!!!! Sad day...then Generation 2 was released and I felt better LOL.

The blue BW Frog is indeed Spittor. :)

Come close, I wanna whisper something in your ear... *SLAPPP!* :P I always lovingly took care of my toys. Most of my Transformers that broke were broken by OTHER kids who'd come over and play with them. But yeah, the majority of my G1 collection is what I collected as a kid. Hence why I don't have the need for an eBay account. ;) There's no way I'd start collecting G1 now... I'd go broke! :o

 

Sad day...then Generation 2 was released and I felt better LOL.

I would've grabbed the 1990 Classic Reissue if I were you. Oh well, at least your Optimus Prime can say, "I AM OPTIMUS PRIME!!!" ;)
