Proof of concept

I have a dream that Hasbro will start an in scale collectors line that re-imagines the characters from the G1 cartoon with modern functionality and give me the same feeling that Masters of the Universe Classics gives me. So I've been thinking, we already have a handful of figures that are perfect or nearly perfect. So what figures do you consider to be perfect or that almost there proof of concept figure?

for me:

MP Optimus Prime -> shrink it down

MP Megatron -> shrink it down

MP Grimlock -> shrink it down

MP Hot Rod/Rodimus -> shrink it down

Classics Hound -> more accurate frontend

Classics ravage

Classics Cyclonus

Modded KO Soundwave(frenzy_rumble) -> shrink it down

Jizai Wheelie

jizai powerglide

Classics Seekers

Generation Jazz

Isn't this basically what the Classics/Universe/Generations figures (the new molds at least) have been? Anyway, my picks would be:

Autobots: Pretty much the C/I/G figures with some modification

Classics Prime with G3 trailer

Classics Magnus with City Commander armor

MP Grimlock (and before him, Energon Grimlock - didn't like the Classics version)

Alternity Bumblebee

Classics Cliffjumper (just so B & C have different forms)

Classics Rodimus (possibly with the upcoming FP addon), or Ti Rodimus Prime

Legends Wheelie (he's supposed to be small, after all)

Warbot Defender Springer

PCC Huffer

Cybertron Red Alert as Ratchet (I don't like the Universe Ratchet/Ironhide mold)

Cybertron Smokescreen as G1 Smokey

Universe Inferno as Red Alert (at least until Gen Red Alert hits my area)

Energon Downshift as Wheeljack

Red/blue Leo Prime as Victory Leo

Generations Laser Prime may be reimagined as Ginrai (yes I know VL and Ginrai are the same guy)

And a reality-displaced SG Ravage has joined my Autobots (since I don't have any other SG figures)

Decepticons: Again, pretty much the C/U/G offerings, with the following changes:

Galvatron - Energon Megatron (Uni Galvatron wasn't that bad, just needed to be a Voyager) I'd say Energon Galvy, but the shade of purple just didn't work for me for some reason.

Music Label Soundblaster

RiD Ruination as Bruticus

ROTF Bludgeon

CLassics Starscream (I prefer the reimagining over the exact reproduction of the original deco on the Universe model)

ANd honestly, I'm pretty happy with most of the updated Decepticons I've gotten from the homage lines

My big problem with CHUG is figures like blur, its a random model with blur paint job. I find it to be a waste of time.

It's actually not a random model.

It's Blurr's IDW design. This Generations line-up is seemingly focusing on making most of the new mold figures from the comic designs and characters. Blurr, and Perceptor are based off their IDW appearances, Darkmount(Straxus) and Hailstorm are two comic characters that didn't have toys when they first appeared, Thunderwing is getting a new fig, and he was a pretty popular comic character as well.

I'm sorry but from what I've seen that blurr is not the IDW design, unless there is an earth mode which hasn't been posted online.

The head is the part that is IDW designed

    • Please tell me this won't be the only release of TFP Cliffjumper...
    • If you've not had your fill of Transformers collaborative news today, here is some more with a leaked product listing for the Project Knight: Transformers X Knight Rider crossover. We've been dreaming of this one, and it appears a transforming K.I.T.T. will be coming as soon as August! It must be something big and or special with a $49. - Read the Full News Story
    • Tonight on GotBot Goes Live, we talked Transformers news for the newest multipack and some reissues. We also talked collaboratives with TMNT, an Ectotron reissue and, maybe, even Star Wars? Plus, we address the MP Ginrai teaser image and answer who is Riggorus?
    • EDIT 2: Okay, I think my real problem with this was the marketing image. The main image shows four robot turtles standing together, so I was ready for four toys, not one. Admittedly, I was so disappointed that I did not bother to read the article fully. That's my fault. I apologize. That said, now that I understand it is THE van that turns into a robot, not "robot versions of the four turtles," that makes more sense, but I don't get the four heads. There are images here of a bandana free head which I gather is not included. I would actually prefer a non-specific generic turtle head for the robot. I think that would remove a lot of confusion. At least for me. EDIT 1: My bad, I misunderstood. It's one toy with swappable heads. So, you made a thing based on a four member team, and you only want to sell one toy? You're not even trying to get people to "Collect all FOUR!" You do understand how toy sales work, right? Original Comment: This is a perfectly fine idea executed TERRIBLY. You made four unique toys, each specific to each of the Ninja Turtles, that all turn into the same vehicle? It would be one thing if they joined together to form the van. There have been transformer sets like that before. This is just wasted opportunity. Not to mention, that van exists for the turtles to ride in together as a team, so if they can turn into vehicles ... what do they need a van for? I get that that's their van, and that's cute and all, but ... this is just dumb and disappointing. Why not think about what kind of car each of them would drive based on their personalities, or ask some car company if they want to do a tie-in promotional? What do I want with four copies of the same van and no one to ride in any of them? It makes no sense.
