Top Ten Worst Defects

I love this brand but its kind of a fixer-upper at times. The most blatant offenders (and this is just off the top of my head, feel free to add)are ,drum roll please:

10.Armada Sideswipe, for such a core name , spring loaded arm gimmick does not stay loaded, fail.

9. Energon Hotshot, legs don't stay together.Reminds me of a few girls I know .Blame the parents. Arms suck to.

8. Energon Downshift, Chest won't stay fixed to torso in robot mode.I actually had to glue this together foregoing the Powerlinx gimmickry to obtain a decent Wheeljack. Hopefully Universe will address this deficiency.

7. Tie.Animated Ratchet/Animated Voyager OP, Legs pop out if you look at them wrong. Then, eventually never stay in place again.

6.Cybertron Metroplex,For the price the chest should lock in place. How did they not fix this?

5. Classics Deluxe OP, The waist turns him into this Red Tornado fig I had in the 80's no lie.

4. Classics Galvatron,Where to begin?

3. Classics Onslaught, This is my favorite defective figure bc I have done everything conceivable to correct the fault and am still trying

2. Energon Swoop,F'd up shoulder ruins my enjoyment of two figs at once.Almost Hasbro QCs wosrt crime to date.

1. PCC(all) , Blatant deregulation of QC standards

Hon. Mentions Classics Megatron's feet/toes;Cybertron Jetfire"s torso seems like they never intended it to stay in place. Still the best brand though. "This thing is wicked!" :tfgrin

What exactly did you need to try and fix on Uni 2.0 Onslaught? Apart from mine not having a fuly functional siren, it´s fine

#5 isn't a QC flaw. There's a lever that you press that spins the torso. If you pull the lever out some, it locks things into place.

:agree Taaron´s right there. I´m so glad he can lock his rockem sockem gimmick too, otherwise I´d hate the figure. Which´d be a shame as when repainted he makes a great nemesis prime

Classics Grimlock's shoulder tabs that don't tab in and Classics/Universe 2.0 Ironhide/Ratchet with the downward facing head are my two choices.

Left ankle assembly won't lock into place. Unnecessary flaw that I've heard others complain of in reviews and posts. Too bad ,so much potential. :tfsad

Grimlock could have been great if his shoulders locked into place ,so close yet...

I just don't see why Hasbro could be unaware of these flaws for the TFs and make such solid Marvel Crossovers. :damnit

Wish I'd known that :tfmad my kids have long since dismembered him.

I have/had the leg issue with Universe Onslaught and had to do some work to correct it. And on about 75% of the TFA figs, I had to do some ball joint maintenance on them in the major joint areas. The first Lugnut was a severe headache, his front windscreen would not come together and stay once in alt mode, I had to do some hit & miss surgery on the slider arms inside him to get them to work properly.

Universe Sideswipe had two left feet as well as Silverbolt. And yes, clunky tank Galvy-pants is atrocious! Alternators Optimus Prime is so poorly put together that his left forearm will not seal properly to hold his ball jointed hand and *if* I can get him into alt mode, there is so much tension on the mold it almost pops apart let alone getting anything on the mold to align properly(he looks like he got hit real hard in and his frame was warped per se').

A lot of the first Movie verse ones were super crappy too, especially deluxe Brawl and his non latching shoulders and barrel that fell off at will in bot mode. '76 Camaro BB I could never get into alt mode properly due to the super tight spring in the chest, the gimmick that was needed for a toy(line) who already has a gimmick.

Of recent, WFC BB, he still had chunks from the molding sprues still hanging off him in various places. He was a pile of un-transformable crap until I did some micro surgery, now he rocks. Still, I/you/us shouldn't have to do mods after the fact. If these were items of mass usage, it would be a QC issue on an epic scale like the Toyota issues earlier this year.

Stopping now lest I fill up some pages!

The most glaring one for me is MP-01/Masterpiece Optimus Prime (his knee and feet problems notwithstanding) - the way his truck lights/panel don't stay in place and how easily it comes off; also, the legs/truck rear droops in truck mode really irks me, but mostly it's because the weight of the metal makes it that way - it could have been dealt with if Takara/Hasbro had installed a stronger ratchet in the waist/hip so that it doesn't droop. Fortress Maximus had massive and heavy legs, but they didn't droop as badly as MP-01. The head cover also pops off when you look at it wrong.

OHHHHHH, I got one I GOT ONE!!!

ANY figures that suffer from Gold Plastic Syndrome
