September 2010 Burning Questions Session Is Here!

Recommended Posts

The time has come again, ladies and germs. The Burning Questions Q&A is back for another round!

With the relaunch of the Q&A Sessions by Hasbro, they have really limited us in what we can ask, so all of the previous ground rules have been thrown out, so READ THESE CAREFULLY!

1) We are limited to TWO questions only.
2) Some things are off limits, saying that "there are some things that we cannot comment publicly on due to confidentiality, legal or competitive reasons. Examples of these types of questions are ones that relate to the upcoming TV series or movies that have not had details announced yet, “When will X toy be made/redesigned/released?”, Hypothetical scenarios or “what if questions”, Sales/Cost Data, Product Idea Submissions, Potential Design/Redesign and Future Movie/Entertainment."

Here are some things we can ask:
"Topics that are open for discussion are things like Deco Decisions, Current Design Choices, Design Process/Development, Character choices and Redeco/Retooling choices. Also, questions pertaining to past and current Lore/Storyline, Line Strategy and Marketing are open for discussion too."

So, here's what you do. Reply in this thread the question that you've been wanting to ask. You only get ONE POST IN THIS THREAD CONTAINING ONLY ONE QUESTION, so use it wisely.

For Twitter, use the hashtag #TFBurnQ so we can collate them easily.

To make sure your question wasn't one of the questions we submitted, read Part I, Part II, Part 3, Part IV, and Part 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 Q&A sessions.

If you think of a better question before the deadline, you may edit your first and only post with a new one.

Due to the close timeline (promise you'll get a chance to vote next time), we will unfortunately not be able to vote on the questions, so we will be picking the ones that we think are the best and submit them to Hasbro at 10 AM on Monday, with the deadline for questions at September 12nd, 11:59 PM Eastern.

For you crybabies out there, do not be disappointed if your question is not picked. This Q&A program will occur on a regular basis, so you will most likely get a chance. If you feel that we made an error in judgment with not picking your question, you can re-post it again the next time.

Final note: Please do not hold discussions in this thread. It will allow us to better read the questions without you guys chatting this place up.

That's it! Post in this thread now! Remember: September 13th is the deadline!

Alternatively you may email us at tfsupport[at]tformers.com with the subject as "Burning Question," submit on Twitter with #TFBurnQ, or login via Facebook Connect to add your comment in this Burning Question post!

Is there anything that Hasbro can do to keep retailers interested in a line of Transformers toys until Hasbro officially ends that toy line? It seems like retailers got tired of Revenge of the Fallen toys and that is why the last wave of Deluxes and Human Alliance Mudflap did not get the wide release that Hasbro intended.

Are Europe going to see any TRU exclusive figures. Like Animated Arcee/Hotrod, or MP Grimlock? Us people in Europe never see anything like that and I´d like to know why not...

does hasbro plan on sending out one final wave of animated figures that contains exclusively the exclusives in order to combat the overly huge demand for these figures?

Animated introduced us to the cool new bounty hunter Lockdown and we was reinvented for the ROTF toyline. Will we continue to see future incarnations of Lockdown, ie. are there any plans to make him franchise a character similar to prime, starscream etc. that see figures in almost every line?

Months ago we were told that we would be seeing Strafe released in the Transformers Hunt For the Decepticons line as a Voyager. So far we have seen every character except Strafe is he going to be released or has his mold been canceled?

With the Generations line you have the opportunity to give us previously unreleased toys like the Canceled Cosmos and even some of the Transtech line that you had produced prototypes of you could even release the upgraded Animated Megatron in that line. Is there any chance that you may take up the opportunity to do so?

With the rise and popularity of third-party Transformers figures (for example two different unofficial G1 Arcee figures so far this year), has Hasbro considered teaming up with such companies to mass-produce their often ingenious toys so that fans can enjoy them from the official source without having to pay ridiculous independant prices?

And if not, doesn't the fact that fan companies are taking matters into their own hands to make much-wanted figures (and fans are buying them) indicate a failure of Hasbro/Takara to capitalise on their own brand?

1. In the TF3 toyline, will the red Ferrari Autobot get a Deluxe class mold and, if so, what is his name?

2. In the TF3 toyline, will Shockwave have just a Leader class mold or, like ROTF Megatron, will he also have Voyager and Legends class molds as well?

In the case of recent series with supporting shows (e.g., Animated, Prime), do you feel that the 'cartoon first, toy line later' approach is the most viable and beneficial to fans, as well as sales of the product?!
