This set isn't meant for adult collectors. If it was they would be made in homage to the original Dinobots and be named accordingly which they are not.

 

This is a set meant to cater to the kids and nothing more. Hasbro obviously didn't have any intentions of this being a nod to the G1's. We got MP Grimlock and the kids have this to stoke their imaginations and get pumped on TF's as a toy to be played with and destroyed.

Hasbro doesnt want the PCCs to be confused with classic gestalts/combiner teams. Thats why they dont resemble the original Dinobots and Im fine with that. To me this just means that there are 6 Dinobots and an entire army of equally powerful drone dino-robos running amok somewhere (the inhabitants of Dinobot Island perhaps?)

 

Or you could just say "Look out for the Beast!!!!"

I'm a big fan of PCC and looking forward to getting Grimstone. Actually like the Dinobots team quite a lot. Dinoking makes a good idea for the repaint, or maybe Monstructor. I'd love to see some teals and purples on those molds.

Yeah this one is a sure fire buy for me for a few reasons:

 

1) It's dinobots, that's enough for me.

 

2) First and possibly only animal PCC set.

 

3) The Pope hat, seriously, that's epic.

 

My prediction though, this is just a teaser for the next animal PCC set, PREDAKING!

I love dinosaurs. I love robots. I love toys where things combine into robots. So when these "things" are dinosaurs that combine into robots? I'm there.

No, just no.

 

Outside of Megmatron, there should not be anymore combining dinosaur Robots. Or for that matter, any more PCC combiners.

 

They just look ugly.
