i dont get it, are you saying the one shown at botcon is going to be the bbts exclusive? i really would prefer the G1 version at retail!

If they exclusive is the Botcon Seacons, then

One, it is not a BBTS Exclusive

two, they are charging more then what Hasbro said

three there is no way now that it is an exclusive to BBTS, Hasbro would send it to a retail chain

I think we all should take a big breath and wait to see what happens.

I am still guaranteeing that Walmart will get this. If I end up wrong, serve me up crow.

Subject: RE: BBTS News: Transformers G1 Seacons - BBTS Exclusive!

Congrats. That's great news.

I saw the reveal of the presentation at BotCon but they listed the MSRP at 49.99. Why the markup?

Hi,

$49.99 is the ‘suggested’ price that Hasbro recommends for standard mass-market pricing at stores like Walmart and Target. We are not a mass market store and do not have the economies of scale that allows us to operate at such thin margins. BBTS would have had to pass on this exclusive if we were required to sell at $49.99. Our $59.99 price point is the lowest price at which this exclusive is financially feasible for us. We determined that it was better to offer the item at $59.99 versus not carrying it at all. We feel the pricing is very fair for what is included in the set, and fair when compared to other G1 style exclusives from mass market stores. We apologize for any inconvenience with the pricing, but it is what we need to sell for to make this item a success and hopefully bring you more cool exclusives from Hasbro in the future.

Thanks!

If it turns out that these same Seacons will be available at Walmart or TRU, I'll cancel my BBTS order. Even with sales tax, the set will be cheaper to buy at one of those stores than it would be from BBTS.

According the other sites, and contacting BBTS directly, there is only one reissue, this one. It's in the "slightly off" colors with chrome sword and wrong color head for Snap Trap. The other things we see are because they used old stock photos of real G1 toys in some places.

This toy will ONLY be available in North America from BBTS, not ANYWHERE else.

It will be $60 plus shipping. The $50 price was Hasbro's MSRP, which BBTS ignored and set their own price.

I went and pre ordered anyways. 60 bucks is fine and it turned out to be only another 15 for shipping and handling to Canada. I've spent more than that a few times for G1's off ebay. So no big deal really in the big scheme of things. Now i have the peace of mind of knowing i have one for sure now instead of waiting and wondering if it will actually go retail of not.
