Preordered on precaution.

Didn't RK mention the Seacons in their last news letter though?

This may be a case where they're getting an exclusive package or bonus. If it turns out that you can only order through BBTS, that completely tosses the idea of getting 2 sets.

Edit Robotkingdom does have a preorder up too.

I think this is just BBTS trying to drum up busness by turning a phrase.

I just re-read the description on their site, and it seems like BBTS might be the only place to order it.

I am with you, Liege... I preordered as a precaution too. :)

EDIT - just got a "special" newsletter from BBTS about this set, so it seems like their claims of this being an exclusive could be legit.

BBTS is known to buy store exclusives and flip them... so I'd take the pre-order with a grain of salt

If you compare the pictures of the Botcon Seacons and the BBTS, they are different mostly Snaptrap's head gives it away different color, but at the same time I do agree, BBTS could be trying to put one over. Especially since the Botcon Seacons are suppose to $49.99, and BBTS wants $59.99.

I pre ordered the August Ocean one too just in case

Here's the thing, if this is a legit BBTS exclusive, there's no more talk ever again of them being "a small online store trying to compete"

We all know they've had little things like third party statues and busts before, but this is regular retail big time.

So on that note, as a market place they should become more compedative in their pricing.

I may be wrong here, but as other people stated, this may be just an online excluse deal made.

-Sure enough they've sold ever other excluse on their own.

But I do have a feeling this will see a regular retail release too. If that hunch is confirmed, (especialy since the BotCon MSRP was set at $50) I am quickly canceling this preordered item.

After looking around, I am highly doubting. That this is a BBTS Exclusive, they are using touched up Photo shopped pictures. Even though the one at RK is of the one that was shown at Botcon. I've also emailed Hasbro, to find out

    • Been a lotta work over the years for the fans. Worth it. As for Cyril's collection, it is my entire childhood and then some.
    • I know he's not going to read this most likely but you're not supposed to be able to separate the car mode easily you twit. It's only supposed to happen when you plug it onto the Menasor frame. That's like complaining about a Powermaster not being able to easily transform if you don't have the engine in it. It's the whole point. And the people who say that Hasbro is coping third party figures. Are you serious? Hasbro is just copying the cartoon designs. Designs that they own. Which is what the third party were copying. CW Menasor was trying to emulate the toys more than anything with the scramble aspect. They were also trying to make Menasor's design work more like the rest of the Scramble City style combiners. It's just that how can they be copying something that they came up with first? And that Crasher still sucks. It should've been a retool of Dragstrip instead of just a redeco of Mirage with the other Mirage's spare head. Slicks should be the redeco of Mirage if you want to do a Gobot from him due to the similar parts layouts. Dragstrip when done right will always look more like Crasher as they have similar parts layouts. Even G1 Dragstrip looks like G1 Crasher. The front goes behind the head on both but in slightly different ways. Even still, you can make that same piece look like Crasher's.
    • Sideways is a bot of many hats. Herald of Unicron, glorified movie cameo, and Master Yogi to name a few. As far as I can tell this isn't a licensed car, which is ok as it allows for more wiggle room with the design and it shows. This is one of the few car transformers I didn't struggle with getting panels lined up and pegged into place. Robot mode is squat and lanky but once you have the legs bent properly they hold Sideways up well and it's pretty posable. If you've been looking for some of the more obscure characters from the live-action movies to get a figure, Sideways is a solid purchase.
