So I got War For Cybertron Yesterday...

Recommended Posts

He said from 1am-1pm, thats a long game. Im totally stoked for it even more. Im thinking of going to Best Buy to tell them I bought the game but they forgot to give me the code for Jazz, :mwahaha

Looking forward to the game too, planning on grabbing it from Wal-Mart at Midnight and skipping the preorder characters, as cool as they are they're all probably going to be Multiplayer Chasis DLC later down the line. As much as I want Jazz I want him in Multiplayer, not just Escalation >_>

And Breaker from what I heart the first shipments of WFC to BestBuys are going to have the code inside the game itself, so even if you didn't preorder it you'd get the character, just what I heard :/

Ah poopy there goes my master plan

I guess twelve hours of play is a decent amount of time. As long as it takes me about 2 weeks to complete the single player game, I'll be satisfied.

12 hours for a shooter is way long. Especially when they are shooters that offer multiplayer (which most do nowadays). It took me around an afternoon of playtime to beat Halo 3 and Gears of War 1 so 12 hours to me sounds great. Gears 2 was longer then 1 and I beat it the afternoon I bought it, without stopping. Talk about crashing afterwards.

Could be wrong about the Bestbuy thing Breaker, that or buy the game there and see if Gamestop will just give you a Shockwave code...or if you reeeeally wanna be cool ask for two shockwave codes and give one to your ol' pal Grimlock-imus >__>

About to head out to pick my copy up now since I have very little patience for good transformers games....especially since we haven't really had one for 25 years now, ROTF doesn't really count cause the story mode was shit.

Really looking forward to Game Nights around here, so many options to do it's ridiculous, can do campaign co-op game nights, escalation game nights, multiplayer gamenights and all that crazy shit :tfevil

Man, none of the big reviews websites have reviews for this game yet, this is the only one I've found so far! Granted, I know it just came out today, but since it's Street Dated I really would have thought that some reviewer SOMEwhere would have gotten ahold of an advance copy.... :/

Hey, You want a code for 360 or PS3? Since I have *ahem* "Connections" to Gamestop, it shouldn't be difficult for me to pick up an extra code for you in a couple days.

... Ya know, assuming they don't tie the pre-order codes to your purchase receipt like they've been doing lately...

IE: if the code is a seperate object that they're handing out to customers at the register I MIGHT be able to snag you one.

But don't EVERYBODY start begging me to get a code, now! :P

360 of course, that's the cool people console :tflaugh

And these connections of your's aren't going to require me to whack someone in exchange for the code now would they? Not that I wouldn't be willing too cause, well let's face it Shockwave is someone you'd kill for >_>

But yeah if you could snag me a 360 code I'd really appreciate it man ^_^ Though there's specualtion going around that all the codes are the same which would work out even better XD

I beat the game...

I'm so disappointed. There was so much potential. The designs were cool, the gameplay was excellent, and the voice acting was top notch. Unfortunately, the game just wastes the Cybertron setting, 'cause the end of the game is immediately prior to the events of the beginning of G1 and there's so much cool stuff that should have been in it that just wasn't.

So, let me put it to you guys this way about the game: Prime and Megatron NEVER FIGHT. They don't even see each other in person, though they do talk. That big, badass trailer with Omega Supreme and Trypticon and the Autobot and Decepticon armies duking it out? NEVER. HAPPENS. You NEVER get to see a giant war happening around you in a big, expansive, transforming area, like what was seen in the trailer. You hear about them happening, but you're always stuck in a 3 man strike team sent on some side mission of great importance.

I have yet to play Escalation, maybe that will give me the big, epic fight I want. I don't know, I hope so.

Well, Trypticon was awesome (he's a giant space station orbital cannon), but the final fight with him is too long, too cheap, and once you run out of ammo, ALL YOU CAN DO IS DODGE TRYPTICON WHILE YOUR TEAM MATES TAKE FOREVER TO KILL HIM.

EDIT:

The credits are awesome, by the way.

^^^ That's how it ended for the Wii. I only beat the Decepticon campaign, but Megatron NEVER met Prime in battle. So much potential. I swear these game companies are focusing too much on online play that the actual game stories are an after thought.

It makes me want to strangle these developers. It doesn't take much to slap the Megatron model in a field with Prime and write some bullshit story for it with a bunch of explosions.

The epic battles, that takes a bit more effort, but I wanted the bare minimum of being able to slap Megatron around. The biggest thing the Autobots do to fuck over Megatron is barely exciting at all.

Lol, the most they'd do is make you reserve some other game that's coming out... :P

But *ahem* I'm afraid I've got bad news... >.>

Preorder codes print out ON the receipt at the time of pickup... a ploy gamestop has been using lately to prevent people who didn't preorder the game from taking advantage of the exclusive reserve bonuses.

I wish I'd known that you needed a code of your own a bit sooner, I probably could have just preordered an extra copy the other day and moved the money to a different game later. ._.;

Cheez! Gimme a spoiler warning before I start reading next time! T_T* I don't mind reading your impressions of the game, but if you're going to give away bits of the ending you really should notify us in advance...

Well, that's pretty much all I need to know about the game. I'll probably buy it when the price is reduced to $39.99.
