Okay, Binaltech vs. Alternators

Recommended Posts

I was referring to the Alternators. But I know you meant him. Does anyone else have a problem with the gun/engine?

Yeah I have the same trouble in car mode, there are two little pins on the front of the motor, and you have to peg them into the foot for it to stay. It take some trying but after you get the hang of it everything fits.

I prefer the Binaltech versions b/c of the diecast and the paintjob looks better IMO on metal. But, since they are ridiculously overpriced IMO, I only buy the Alternators for now.

Little bit of time and you can get the same quality paint job on the Alternators. It will never have the same weight, but a good model or auto paint (if you want to spend the money) will make that plastic look a lot better.

My fave is alt sideswipe. I did the mod so that the trunk is now his chest, and it looks pretty kool.

I hate that mode. It looks way too wide. Although, I did do the mod, because it helps close up the back and make his missile tubes more readily available. Plus I was noticing stress marks at that joint that worried me, but the point of contact was removed after modifying it.

I don't have any problems with the engine. It takes a little jiggling, but you just need to push it down and get it in the right spot, and it clicks in nicely. I think Sideswipe's robot mode looks fantastic in real life. The pictures on the box look stupid, but tha's only 'cause it's a lame pose. He's the only one I've got so-far, so he's my favorite, but I'm picking up Smokescreen next week.

I can't agree with your criticisms. I think all the Alternator's are the best thing to happen to The Transformers in 15 years. :tfevil

Smokescreen is my current favorite. I'm not really sure why. Both he and Sideswipe are great, but Smokescreen is just slightly better in my mind. Allthough, I think that Hound may move up the list once I get a hold of him.

So far, Hound is the best to me, and Sideswipe is the worst. I like Houd's design. It plays nicely on the G1 design eve though wis his head was more squared to look like the original.

between aternator an binaltech, the die-cast wins easily. Sure it costs more but it helps to further make the series look G1-based.

Looks like Hound will become my favorite. So far he became the "closest" to his G1 form.
