Is it true that transformers can never die

I don't think those three generals were reformatted. Megatron is incappable of reformatting. Only the Matrix or the Oracle can do that. Those three were drones, with sparks placed inside of them, that way The maximals would have a hard time killing them, cause they were old friends. When they arrived on Cybertron they were abducted, their bodies disposed off, and their sparks removed. Then placed into a drones body to give it a personallity...Megatron may have reprogramed them or messed with there heads. I'm sure putting an old spark into a new body is bound to have side effects.

The key word their being "drones". Drones are just machines, not made up of the self-replicating nanomachine cells and "DNA" of a Transformer. Jetstorm, Tankor, and Thrust were reformatted Transformers with Sparks, and their bodies were fully living bodies. Jetstorm was eventually reformatted back into Silverbolt. This proves that his body was never just a "drone" body.

A Transformer's body is very much analogous to organic life, but instead of being made up of carbon-based organic compounds such as proteins, it's made up of metallic-based nano-machine cells. When injured, they eventually heal through cellular regeneration, if not injured to the point of death. They eat and drink to take in nutrients and raw material to sustain their bodies, they maintain internal homeostasis, etc. The body is fully living, it's not simply machinery. The Spark sustains that body.

Drones are simply automatons. And that is what Megatron wanted for his army and for Cybertron—lifeless, mindless, and obedient automatons who would obey his every whim.

Actually, that's not true. Stasis pods can reformat, scanners can reformat. The Matrix is what initiates the formation of a Spark in a Protoform. It doesn't reformat a being. Yes, Megatron did originally extract their Sparks from their original bodies, but then, after he found that his drones were useless without leadership, he reformatted the three into his generals. The exact methods he used are never explicitly discussed, however, the very fact that they could be reformatted back into Maximal or Predacon forms proves that their bodies weren't simply manufactured drone bodies.

If anything, the Sparks were placed in blank protoform bodies which were then deliberately formatted into Vehicon style forms.

Stasis pods I believed to Format not reformat meaning change from one form(not protoform) into another form(not protoform)....but I guess you gotta ask the question where does a stasis pod come from? Is it a new Cybertronian or merely one that has reverted back into Protoform for long journies?

One episode one BW, it's the Axalon ship that scans the land for a proper form for the Maximals same for the Pred ship. As far as BW-BM is concerned It seemed that Optimus Primal(with the help of the Oracle) was able to Reformat his comrades in to another form. And remember you can't use Reformat so lightly, all the maximals were changed into TFs that were half organic and half Cybertronian. It isn't the same as scanning a new form like we see done ON the first episode of TFCybertron or MBFormer's Bumblebee(scanning a new camero)

So when OPrimal reformatted Silverbolt that was an act from the Oracle, changing all metal into the half organic half robotic forms.

I always figured they reverted back for long travel, especialy seeming as that most would need a new form when they reached their destination.

I never liked that pretty much all BW characters that came from a pod emerged as a developed but otherwise brand new being.

Just a gripe as not all the pods were damaged or reprogrammed.

The way I see it, and I go into it more in my GalvatronII fanfic is Autobots and Decepticons were built. They didn't have protoforms.

Protoforms are a next gen type of body thats developed and the reason why they're now Maximals and Predacons instead of Autobots and Decepticons.

These new bodies have issolated the life essence as a spark where as the old forms used a complex series of machinery to keep their individual charges from fading.

Now if hasn't been done already a pictures gonna be put up of quintessons who look like The Great Kazzoo running from the first Cybertronian technorganics seen in G1.

But whatever, this is just how it makes sense to me, I could care less about factual actual acuracy as it gets switched around every time a new writer comes on board anyway.

Find what works for you and run with it.

Stasis pods are actually used for both purposes. They can be used to contain new blank protoforms before a Spark is imbued within them to create a new being, or they can be used to put a being into stasis, reverting them to protoform state for long journeys. Most of the protoforms in Beast Wars were the latter though there were a few blanks as well.

As MtMtE #8 says on page 9:

Development and History

The Origin of the CR chamber also ties into the stasis pod; stasis pods are primarily used to store newly developed protoforms before they are imbued with a spark and formatted into fully functioning mechanoids. They keep the protoform in total isolation, supported and nurtured by lubricating fluid. Because of their ability to keep a Transformer dormant with minimal energy loss, stasis pods have also been employed to conserve resources, such as storing crew membrs on extended space flight. Their ability to maintain docility and dormancy has also led to their use in Cybertron's prison and detention systems.

Thus, stasis pods have been used to contain new protoforms, as well as pre-existing Transformers reverted to protoform state for long journeys or imprisonment. and officially, All Transformers, all the way back through G1 are made up of this same "protomatter"—self-replicating nano-machine cells. It's not new to the Maximals and Predacons. Marvel G1 and G2 confirms this. They had a cellular structure and a form of "DNA" analog since their creation by Primus well over ten billion years ago.

I understand about all that and figured as much with the pods.

On area where we keep clashing though is I'm fanfic, your provided tends to make for a round about conversation from time to time, although still enjoyable.

I just see this a different way as in when we started with Cybertron MTMTE ep1 transformer bodies where built. They often talk of being rolled off the assembly line.

Before that though cybertronians were regular wildlife mutated when Primus arrived but still reproduced the same way animals do.

-this is where you get the protomatter from. Yes it exists in my collectives stories too.

The Quintessons (having nothing to do with Unicron) enslaved and manipulated the transformers. Producing them instead of letting them reproduce. The matter was pressent in the matterials but dormantly.

In the time of "the masters" the dormant gene was reawakened due to the interaction with organics.

That lead to the study and research that shut down the manufacturing plants and the evolution to the protoform body.

Maximals and Predacons (seeming as they stopped making alot of beast formers) made a further upgrade to the protoform body adding in elements to make heavier armor for themselves and are now nextgen Autobots, and Decepticons a mix of the manufacturing process and the protoform body.

Now i'm not writing this as a counter argument of any type. I'm just simply stating and sharing how I see the average geniology of most Transformers. I don't care if it clashes with cannon simply because if it was published, it would be. If cannon is that easy to change, I mine as well keep carring on with my own then as the stories and origins simply seem more stable.

Liege vs Tramp again?

Damn I hate debate club! Im going back to morse code.

no, while I respect Tramp and his devotion to the provided fiction, I've said my piece and am done on this topic.

I'll simply say again, as both I and Tramp have, find what works for you and run with it. It's all made up bull :poop anyway so in the end, what's it matter :shrug
