It didn't take long for the rumor to be squashed. Seems Bay got enough flack for his stereotyping robots Skids and Mudflap last time. The news reported yesterday appears to be false. Michael Bay has posted a clear and concise response on his

bummer... I kinda liked the twins. Then again I also liked arcee and he probably just offed her to.

for me the twins made the movie. i cant wait for the "movie" transformers to go away; transform in to memories or something im so sick of them clogging up the toy shelf

I didn't like the twins (except maybe for the bumper sticker they had while being an Ice Cream truck).

 

As for Arcee, she had to little screen time to say if I liked her or not. I wouldn't mind her appearing again. As for Jolt, as a character there's no way to make a decision either, but his robot mode wasn't good (compared to the other movie TF)

I take every thing Bay says with a grain of sand. He has been known to lie and misslead about the most simmple and stupid of things. Also, we know he really does not care what the fans want or like. He's said so himself pretty much.

 

He would have have to do a lot more than just replace the twins if you ask me to make up for RotF. Here's hopeing...

I didn't mind the twins. I wouldn't want to see them headline again, but a backround spot or something would be alright.

Wonder if this means they'll just get blown away early, or be kinda in the background? I mean, they always need background bots and the twins are already rendered. It'd be odd for characters who were so prominent in one movie to just disappear completely. Even Jar-Jar was in the background after Ep 1.

There's no easy way out for Bay as far as excluding the Twins.

 

1- They die early on, early enough to consider them "not in the movie". Then there is the matter of how the rest of the Autobots (not to mention the humans) handle their deaths. We know nobody liked how they handled Jazz's death in TF1.

 

2- They just don't appear at all. Did they die off-screen? Then see #1. Did they just up and leave Earth? Then where'd they go? If they stayed but "ran away", wouldn't the Autobots or Decepticons go find them?

 

3- Probably the best bet, they are background characters with no dialogue. Actually, this might be an easy way out after all.

The Twins were, ironically, the least offensive thing about ROTF. They may have been broad stereotypes of black people based on hip-hop culture, but that's where it ends. I found them to be the most likable out of all the Autobots. Their interaction with the human characters is how Bumblebee should have been, rather than the creepy mute that we got.
