About Alternator licenses.

Recommended Posts

I love the Alternator line of TFs. They are everything I ever dreamed the TFs could be. But something is bothering me. Are they just going to stick with auto maker licenses or are they going to get some from companies like Lockheed, Boeing, Amtrak or Harley Davidson or maybe other vehicle makers. There were some jets, helicopters, bikes, trains and space shuttles in the G1 line BTW. And what about remaking some of the Triple Changers. And I know Optimus Prime was remade into a 20th anniversary remake (not necessarily an Alternator per se) and looks more like a Peterbilt Model 362 now, but there was Ultra Magnus and other truck TFs. I'd love to see Vortex done in an AH-64A Apache mode.

Any thoughts? Am I the only one who's thinking this?

Wouldn't it also be badass to have Alternators combiners too? If they can somehow get that to work I'd be in TF nirvana.

Kinda off topic but where the hell are the other decepticon alternators? I mean only deadend right? Vastly outnumbered.

Swindle's coming up soon (next month in Japan, with the US release not that far behind), plus Jaguar (Battle Ravage) has just been confirmed for Binaltech.

Yeah i would love to see all that stuff given the Alt treatment, would ahve to be a bit smaller than 1/24 though ;)

Heh, you're right but for whatever reason i cant help but wonder why they're even releasing these second rate decepticons anyway? I would be perfectly fine having an all autobot transformers line, if its based solely on cars, because lets face most autobots are CARS! Where in the hell did they get the idea to make dead end and swindle, adversaries of such staple autobot characters as meister, hound and sideswipe come on! Whats even worse is that everyone suspected (myself included) that dead end would be sunstreaker due to all the test pics that were released of him with an autobot symbol, largely the same thing happended with swindle whom many thought was going to be trailbreaker because of the similairities and of course the autobot logo test shot. Dont get me wrong i like dead end and swindle, (battle ravage im not to sure of), but i would much rather have had them be sunstreaker and trailbreaker officially. The decepticon alternators/bts, just seem almost too forced for me to accept, like they had to make some lackeys for the overwhelming number of autobots to fight and instead of some staple characters they choose two nearly unknown combiner characters (dead end more so than swindle), sorry its off topic, but it always made me wonder everytime i looked over at my over dead end and released what a black sheep he was in the alternator/bt line.

Back on topic though... i think it might be a little bit harder for has/tak to acquire those licenses and also if they're trying to keep a consitent 1/24 scale lineup of all the toys to be released other than cars (construction vehicles, jets), these figures would be towering over their counterparts and would probably cost a heck of alot more, even though in G1 of course everything was completely scaled wrong with jets being the size of cars and so on, but still i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

whew...

Aren't we due for a new prototype. Swindle and Grimlock are really close to release and I'm pretty sure Windcharger and B Ravage are close behind that. So, what is next. I would love some jets or motorcycles. Since Alternators doesn't exactly have story line I would be happy to get an upgraded, super articulate, more detailed version of the Robot masters Starscream that is either the same size as 20th prime or at least the height of Energon Megatron.

the alts are the right side compared to armada starscream (smokescreen and silver streak are anyway)

what about the train of thought that says if Takara wont make it, then hasbro will never get it!.... and it seems that Takara is gearing up for Galaxy force, what is this going to do to Energon and the Alts.??

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing some planes and construction vehicles in 1/24 scale. I think it would be very cool and I have no problem with the towering over the others part of it. Seldom when Autobots and Decepticons went one on one did an Autobot win and in Energon you have that concept continued when you see the Autobots 'powerlinking" to defeat the decepticons. Essentially saying it takes more of them than the decepticons. I think having larger plane and construction decepticons would only continue this thought and because the toys would be more expensive, there would be fewer of them. Which again, keeps with the original lines as there were way more autobots than decepticons.
