I'm planning on using parts from mp prime, as well as a few other 'bots.

i am not seeing the transform....

where does the "silencer" go in Robot form?

Am i right to guess that the stock/shoulder pad - becomes his legs/feet?

What does "loner arms go in chest" mean?

if One arm is where the scope/ArmCannon is - where is his other arm?

do you have a sketch of Bot mode??

Where does the Trigger go?

I still dont see how it can be porportional in both modes...

He said/meant "Lower arms (forearms) go in chest", unless this is some kinda one-armed Megatron.

Unfortunately, Megatron, more than any other character if I recall, probably used the most 'animation magic'.  I remember back in '84 or 5 when I'd gotten my Megatron toy and snapping the barrel off that same night trying to fold it up along his back shoulder.  Strangely enough, the Seibertron toy gallery shows the reissue with the barrel folded up along the back.  I haven't received my reissues yet and can't verify, and will probably leave them sealed and play around with the 007 knockoff instead which I suspect is more likely based on the reissue mold than some offshoot of the originals.  I've hypothesized that the japanese Megatron (and microchange predecessor) could have the barrel folded up the back; that the '80s Hasbro barrel could not, possibly because of the disabling of the ability fire the plastic bullets; that the animation artists might have been given a japanese model that allowed the barrel to fold up the back and thus creating that particular discrepancy.  It doesn't seem like a coincidence that the 'nub' along the top of the barrel always faced Megatron's front and not his back.  Perhaps someone with both the firing and non-firing versions could confirm or refute this?

Anyhow, any redesign probably has to start with the gun proportions first since the alt mode is based on a real object, and thus more of an anchor in terms of recognizeable characteristics.  'Course fitting the bot proportions into that..

I was hoping this wasn't the same half-design I remembered, but it is.

There's just so many awkward consessions like the shoulder-stock legs, ommissions in where parts are supposed to go (shoulders, trigger, barrel, 'armor/gunclip' handgrip, etc), and shortcoming in just how parts are supposed to fit in there that never even existed on the original, I just can't see how this can qualify as a demonstration for an MP Megatron that even works on paper, let alone a whole physical model (which again may not be viable due to excessive fragility, complexity, or unrecognizable proportions).

How can two full forearms & hands fit into one chest cavity? How can the hips and head connect to the chest? Where is the abdomen, even?  How narrow will the legs be if they're supposed to become a believeable handgrip?

The G1 figure's entire hip, shoulder, and head assembly folded out into place on an armature; none of those joints were contained internally. I simply can't see how a figure could be designed that transformes from a handgun into something resembling Megatron. Either one or neither form would look anything like the same Transformer, and this concept sketch merely confirms my theory.

It's a nice idea that has potentional for something, don't get me wrong, but it's simply unfair to people to advertise it as an actual 'design that would work' for a transformable MP-sized posable Megatron.

how big pics it is!!

well, i think you should make a statue of megatron is better :tftongue

the shoulder stock DOES NOT become his feet :roll

his feet tf the same way as G1 Shockwave's do :thumb

Dood, he's trying to come up with a way to incorporate all of G1 Megs parts without removing them.

Do all of Masterpiece Prime's parts remain attached to him through his transformation, aside from the obviously loose ones?  His fists even?

no

was there not an image featured at the sandiego comic con that had megatron drawn to resemble his toy form?

That could be used as an idea (i'd also like the picture if anyone can find it) :)
