Hello! So I started to collect again, any advice.

I recommend you focus on what you like because there's too much crap to buy out there!

Amen to that! One of the reasons I like quality series - and I just can't put Alternity into that category. It's also why I stopped getting the Movie line. What I like - are quality SERIES - not individual pieces that don't have a place. I can take a slight inferiority, when they at least have a place inside of a series.

But one man's treasure is anothers garbage. Case in point, the rare pre-pepsi prime you recently shown. I wouldn't pay $10 for it, as it holds no value to me - because it doesn't go with other stuff I have. It likely goes in perfect for what you collect and value.

Some general advice:

Reading reviews can help you avoid some pitfalls. Blitzwing does some great ones on the main TFormers.com, and I'm also a big fan of cliffbee.com/reviews/ and tfarchive.com, which are both really good resources for older toys. The galleries on Seibertron.com can be helpful too, especially for things like size comparison.

That said, there is no substitute for actually holding a figuring in your hands/putting it on your desk. There are a bunch of figures I didn't realize I'd love until I had them. That's not to say that you should buy whatever willy-nilly; I'm saying, try out a line and if you like it, if you find yourself gazing lovingly at a figure for days on end, then stick with it. Since you love your black MP Optimus so much and love Decepticons, you might want to track down Masterpiece Megatron next. He's really spectacular.

And I second whoever said to shop on the EndCap forum here. Some other sites have similar forums. Personally, I've bought probably 60% of my collection off the forums, and I've never had a transaction go sour. It's much, much better than eBay diving.

I know its a lil to late but Classic Universe was awesome.G1 reborn.Wait....theres always ebay. :doh

The upcoming Generation line is lookin great.

Yeah I have the MP-05 Masterpiece Mega and his legs are so wobbly and very hard to position for pics and action poses, Is your megatron loose???? I am not saying not to buy it but I am saying that you should look at reviews just like everyone else ,

happy wallet emptying ......

Mine is fine. And yeah, as I said, read reviews. I know a lot of people hate MP Megatron for various reasons, but they all seem like forest for trees issues to me. Bottom line: this is the best version we have ever gotten or will ever get of no less than freaking Megatron! He looks spectacular in both modes, even if the gun's too big... he's probably my favorite figure I own. I even prefer him to MP Prime just because we've had so many more good Primes over the years. Anyway, I maintain that if you love Decepticons, and love the MP line, then he should be on your radar.

only thing I can gripe about MP-05 is the "cosmic rust" and the giant fusion cannon. My megatron's shoulder isn't strong enough to support the weight of it and I just kept it off while I still had it displayed.

Also, really enjoyed how the transformation kept me busy for about an hour the first time through. It's like getting a puzzle that lasts longer than a few minutes to figure out for once.

MP Megatron is the most awesome disapointment in TF history.

It's like taking an amazing Transformer, then hitting it with a steamroller.

Also, due to the cannon, mine has a permanent slouch to the left. in his hip joint.

I love the MP Megatron. I don't have any issues with mine either. That said, I don't pose him with the cannon on his arm tho. I bought the turrent gun assessory, and have Megatron manning that instead. The difficult transformation not withstanding, he is the best Megatron we've had - and a definate 'must have' - at least as a display piece, to me.
