Rotf Brawn

Recommended Posts

Hi there-

today I bought rotf Brawn and I got him all transformed into robot mode and he wont stand all by him self I have to prop him up against something here he is against my pc monitor and maybe someone can give me some ideas to tell me why he wont stand on his own

did you flip out the heals?

The figure has good ankles, I haven't had any problems :shrug

yep

Make sure you've got the legs straightened out. The joints on mine are stiff and it might seem like they straighten anymore, but give it a shot. HTH.

I still have mine on my end table, abd moved him several times, he places right down.

from your pic I'd bow the legs out more give him a rounded stance, that'll prove for more balance.

Again, mine has great balance, just put the feet down firm then fidgit with the figure till you find the proper balance.

not for nothin

One foot with minimal effort

Ok I'll try those thanks for all your help

Anyone found a place on him for the BullPups in robot mode?

Whenever it comes to getting figures to stand up, it helps to think of having at least 3 points of contact for the best stability. Depending on the foot size, you can think of the "toe" and the "heel" as two separate points. You then only need to position the third point (usually the other foot) in a place where the figure's center of gravity will fall in the middle of the three points. Using this, I can place a number of my figures in a heroic walking pose, including my Recon Ironhide, who has some of the loosest swivel and knee joints in my entire collection.

Finding the center of balance is the crucial part, because you need to place the supporting limb below that so the figure's weight is aimed straight down through the limb. If it's off, then the figure topples. Liege's Brawn is a good example of that, since not only are his limbs arranged, but also his kibble, so that everything balances the figure on his standing leg.

also, on alot of figures it helps to not extend the heel all the way. Leaving it where it'll give a slight forward tilt helps, especialy with back heavy figures.

And I do agree, on average you shouldn't need more then 3 points, but I always give bonus points to the figures I can get on 1 foot. No point having all that articulation just to stand around. :mwahaha
