so i went to walmart yesterday, and they had just shipped the latest wave of deluxes. unfortunately all that were left were ratchet and that sideswipe repaint, so i picked up ol green. initially i thought he was a pretty good representation of his movie self, but then i messed with his panels and gave him samurai armor. whaddya think?

its hard to see in the photos because hes all green, but it really makes him look like a samurai with all the decoration from his alt mode adorning his armor. i should have him face off against bludgeon, now all he needs is a sword!

Nice, but I still think he looks British.

 

If I had any figure paint skills I'd do a Tallgeese 2 paint job on this guy.

I almost bought one last week but I could not. It's a nice robot mode but that color really hurts the toy. I hope there's a G1 repaint. Heck, it doesn't even have to be G1. I would buy any decent repaint of deluxe Ratchet.

yeah, hes got that 90s ninja turtles 'Mutagen Ooze' color going on, its so unique. i kinda hate it/love it at the same time. its a real bastard to photograph :argh :argh :argh

Why did they make movie Rachet that color anyways? Personally, I've NEVER seen a rescue vehicle with that hideous color.

Anyone see any full repaints done yet? Knowing Hasbro, I'd expect to get one in white at some point. I'd love to get another in red as well.

 

I wouldn't say that odd green rescue vehicles don't exist. You used to see them from time to time way back when, but not so much anymore.

 

I've actually rather recently saw a town that has yellow firetrucks and another with a similar green. So they are out there. I used to really love the green ones when I was a kid.

 

I don't mind the green color so much, the bot mode just needs tons more paint detail to bring out all the fine details of the mold. I've heard a lot of people being rather harsh, but it's been one my favorite deluxe figures in the line so far.

 

May have to get another one or two and try detailing him myself. I probably won't do a wholesale repaint though just to see how much better it will look with simple detailing.

As I keeping looking at Ratchet I think a lack of paint detailing is what I really don't like about the toy. In robot mode it's just green. There is nothing to break it up.
