Review: ROTF Legends Class Devastator Figure

Recommended Posts

John, It's not smaller than a Deluxe when combined. It's about Voyager sized when combined.

No, it is not. Voyagers tower over him. (Well, except Blackout, but he's not much taller than a Deluxe Class anyway.)

He's in between mid and full size Deluxes when combined, not a bit bigger.

Here he is next to Skids, and he is quite a bit taller, and that's with his head down.

I would definitely classify him as a small Voyager class figure.

Wow. Really? LOL... Skids is one of the smallest Deluxe Class figures. Of course the Legends Devastator is going to be taller than he is. Geez. Your argument holds no water.

The argument was made that he was smaller than Skids and Mudflap. Mudflap is the same size as Skids, and Legends Devastator is definitely taller by a couple of inches. You lift the head up (which you can do) and you'll add even more, making him as tall as a Voyager class figure. Skids stands 4.5" tall, based on the picture, that would make Devastator about 6.5", which is the height of a large Deluxe or small Voyager class.

....How am I suppose to put "wrecking balls" on a figure of that size? WELL HASBRO HUH? HUH? HUH!? :roll

In one of the toy isles at Walmart there is a finger bowling set for desktop play for I think $1 that might satisfy this.....they may be a little large though..... :lol

Knowing exclusives this guy will go on clerance relativley soon, I'll probably buy him once I can find him for less that $20.

I so wanted to like Devastator, but I just can't control all this HATE I have to harbor for this figure. I think $20 is still to much for this figure. In all fairness, this is the best version of this POS figure they have made. It may not be accurate, but individual alt modes, individual bot modes, and a combine mode makes me respect the engineers who made this.

I still need to get this and HA Barricade. It's driving me mad trying to decide which one to get first though :argh

HA Barricade, wait for this guy to go on clearance. :thumb

I wish they would make Scrapper a Voyager class figure. I've almost bought Long Haul a couple of times because I think they did a good job with him as a movie figure. If ALL of the Constructicons would have followed the Long Haul and Scrapper transformations / bot modes he could have very well been the best Transformer figure made. I've hated on ROTF Devastator enough.....sorry can't help myself.

Oh and the Supreme Devastator is rotting on shelves in all the stores I go to. He's on clearance for $48 and no one is buying him. I wonder if it will ever get to $32 on clearance. I think it would be humorous if someone picks up the legends class and then sees the Supreme Class on clearance and then debates which one to get.

So what you're saying is he can be classified as a Large Deluxe class or a small Voyager class figure? :lol

I saw about 30 of these today. I figured with all the other new stuff out. It could wait.

I wanted 2 but may just do the one. In hand the total package just wasn't what I thought it would be.

Height-wise, yes. Mass-wise, I'd classify him as Voyager class. This is just an estimate though since I don't have the figure yet. He's not out in Buffalo yet.

Yeah, you can lift his head up, but then he's incorrectly transformed. What you see is what you get. Sure, I can make some Deluxe figures appear taller than a Voyager if I leave them transformed incorrectly, but that doesn't make me right.

He's no bigger than a Deluxe, plain and simple.

You might be right about the mass, might, but the height...wrong. He's no bigger than a Deluxe. And I'm still not convinced on the mass issue either.

Taller doesn't mean "Bigger". Overall mass is ultimately what determines it's size, not just the height. So yes, he is bigger than a Deluxe. Think about this, RotF Chromia and Arcee are Deluxe figures, but are taller than many Voyager class figures. Their overall size though, sets them as Deluxe because they have less mass.

I cant help but wonder, exactly how big did you guys think he'd be? It's a Legends class combiner, the Japanese one has been out for awhile, long enough to see enough pictures of to not expect him to really be that big.

Legends devastator is tiny. No way should he ever be considered a voyager. I'd like to see how he compares to animated bulkhead now come to think of it with the argument of mass vs height. I can't really picture bulkhead being smaller than him

Personally, I think he'd fit into the crossover's size class: a bit bigger than a normal deluxe, but still smaller than a voyager.

Either way, I don't see the need to complain about his size. Devastator is 7 legends figures that come together to form a legends combiner. Doesn't it make sense that he's small? If we want a toy of him, there's a choice of big or small (or a lot of inbetween if you wanna go the KO route).

I'm happy with him though, he's a fun little figure.

You can see countless pictures of something and never truely comprehend the scale. See the Pyramids in person and you'll understand. Billions of shots all of which fall short!

I mentioned before I finanly saw this figure first hand. Even for a Legend Combiner it was about an inch shorter then I thought it would be (so much for pics).

It still looks good for what it is though concerning the play collector in me. The MSIB guy though, very let down by the total package.

Again, thanks pics.
