Michael Bay Says Transformers 3 Goes Deeper - Unicron?

Recommended Posts

The problem with some fans: they're too devoted to the original concept, and don't care to see another spin on things. They rather see an updated look and same ole story.

I like the Transformers movies so far. Granted they're not masterpieces but they're unique takes on the idea, and adding in the excessive amount of crude humor may have been a bad choice but it also portrays a small portion of the characters in the Bay Transformer's universe.

If he wants to go darker, I can see him doing that without reinvention, but if he is going to do more character development I think Bumblebee and Spike should be...cameoed. It feels like their story is pretty much finished, unless there's something else hidden in his head from the All Spark.

Unicron as Cybertron? (I know it's not right but it is Michael Bay after all)

Didn't BAy say about the same thing for the second movie that it would go deeper into the TF lore and history but instead he just made up a lot of stuff that had nothing to do with TF and added a few names to make it seem like it was about TF....

Uhhh whatever I just said. Anyways, I wish him all the luck getting TF 3 together.

name = ultrazilla2000 Yes, he DID say that about the second movie, and that's exactly what they did. He never said he was going to base the lore and history on any previous series, he was referring to the lore/history of the MOVIE SERIES. Why must we continuously link everything Transformers with G1??? We already have an excellent animated movie for that, let these Bay films be their own entity. Personally I think they are fun as hell, and can't wait to see what's next! Deeper and darker can't really be possible with so many annoying human characters though. No matter how much I love these films, Agent Simmons and roomy has got to go...

name = dcj91x

Take it easy man it's only a movie....

Contradict yourself much? @ dcj91x

Spystreak, do us a favor? When you know something stupid is about to come out of your mouth, just don't let it. Mmmkay? Awesome.

...wishing for the man to be dead over a movie.

The fandom is slowly pushing me away with their ridiculousness. Wanting a man's existence to end over a movie you don't agree with?

Bay's collecting paychecks, while you keep feeding his bank account. You people bitch and moan constantly about the guy but keep giving him your hard earned money.

There is NO one to blame but yourselves.

And I don't care if it's Bay, Uwe Boll, whoever... They don't deserve to die over a movie, nor have their life threatened, etc.

Some of you folks scare the shit out of me, and this is one of the reasons I refuse to waste money on Botcon. I'm liable to either be killed by, or end up punching one of you out in self defense.

Get some meds.

Now, onto the video itself.

Bay said he wanted the film to possibly be darker overall, but give Bumblebee more screen time, more of a story, more emotions. I don't see how that's so hard for people to figure out.

The bias and hatred is soooo blinding, it's disgusting.

I HATE the original G1 movie, with a passion. Do I hate the people behind it? Of course not. They were doing their job, and they seem like really wonderful people who tried to make us happy for years.

Why are you lot so fucking selfish anymore? Why?

:agree

okay you know what piss the hell off. you think I give a shit what you think go to hell and die you dumb piece of crap

And you just further proved my point. Thank you oh so much for showing off the absolutely horrible side of the fandom.

And now you've been reported. Enjoy.

Where do you go after the Earth is saved in the second movie? Cybertron? A movie that is mostly robots doesn't seem to be Michael Bay's cup of tea.

I wish for one thing in the next movie. No tiny robots! More than anything else, I really do not like the tiny robots in these Transformers movies. They are annoying.

Also, if the Allspark could bring a Mountain Dew machine and kitchen appliances to life, why did never bring a regular car to life?

Any more flaming from any members to other members will shut this thread down permanently. That includes post-discussion about flaming. Please play nicely.

I know it's never explicitly shown transforming on camera, but I always assumed that SUV who's steering wheel eats the girl's face in the first movie was brought to life as a full TF.

I don't mind the little stuff so long as it's not a focus. They're no different than the G1 tape guys or micromasters or minicons, and they serve a role the "giants" can't (like Frenzy's or even Wheelie's infiltration antics).

edit: weird redundant post is weird. Can't figure out how I managed that one. :lol

I don't like them because they're all jittery and insane. Some of them are really silly too, like that razor-thin robot that stole the Allspark shard.

Oh, and Miromasters were just Hasbro trying to cash-in on the new Micro Machines toys of the late 1980s. They are not Transformer characters that were tiny.

The personality dislike is valid, I got no counterargument to that. I actually thought "reedman" was kind of interesting though-- nice way to play up Ravage's "stealth" abilities without going to the tired and true Predator/Romulan/etc cloaking device.

There's no doubt Hasbro was reaching for the Micro Machines market, but they most certainly *ARE* tiny Transformers, that's how they're portrayed in every canon I've seen.
