WANT

Good heavens man, isn't there anything that you dislike?

Animated, though I do have most of the figures.

I LOVE transformers I just dont try desperately to find something not to like.. Typical fan argument "But one arm is longer than the other that just isn't natural" Yup natural on earth, most want giant robot aliens, but some want giant robot aliens that look like men in suits.. Probably should start collecting Power Rangers..

These Swordys are both a nice nod to R.I.D. AND practically a Swiss Army Knife of death for Giant Robots. Whats not to like?

Well, of all these third-party products, these swords are the only ones that seem truly unneeded. Really, who was asking for some stupid, giant sword to go with their Tranformers?

Why not have a big swordy? I mean giant weapons are cool.

I need a sword my RID Prime...

Really, who was asking for some stupid, giant sword to go with their Tranformers?

me!

So, you actually, prior to knowing about these T.A.W. swords, consciously thought about having some random swords to go with you Transformers? Is that what you're saying?

Here's the pro about these and other upgrade kits similar, you can build an armory, and do something to make your figures stand out from just whats in regular retail.

A guy who gets this is gonna put up some pics and I guarentee many a jaw will drop. Good for them too, without altering the main product kitbash style, they have something that will stand out.

!!!COOL!!!

The con, is the cost. Lets take Classics Prime....

You can get:

G3 Trailer for $80

BTS Trailer for $50

Commander armor for $120

TAW Sword for $50

GoW2 guns for $29

Battle Rollar for $40

-none of that includes shipping

SO OK, you can make a kick ass figure even more kick ass! That doesn't change the fact though that your starting with a $20 figure. I understand these are second market pieces, but the market price really kills the luster of these items. It's not that they arent good, it's just(in this case) who would pay $50 to get a sword for a $20 figure???

Seems like alot to pay, but I think it was worth it. :lurk

So what would you want to go with your transformers? A box on wheels to go with your trucks that doesnt even combine? A ladder for a truck with a water cannon? A giant tube to go on the shoulder of a bot???

Seriously? :tfevil

No. I've not bothered with that weapons set. My Universe Inferno is just fine the way it is. Anyway, aside from obvious stuff like a trailer for Classics Prime and armor for Classics Ultra Magnus, I've never thought about extra accessories for my Transformers.

Here's my take. I'm always on the look out for new weapons. I'll go to the store and get the pirate sword tooth picks, snap off the guards and arm my guys up. In the dollar store if a toy has a cool weapon I'll bet it for that alone.

So in short, I can't be the only guy doing that so yes, there is a demand for swords and guns and what not. I'm happy that companies make them, i just hate the rape dollar charge.
