RotF Arcee - First Impressions.

Recommended Posts

I think they are making something a lot harder (and uglier) than it has to be.

Case in point -- 1980's Devestator looks 'so' much better than the one they made almost 30 years later. It's rediculous.

Both of the bikes look horrid in their bot modes, imho.

I grew up with the 80's Dev, I much prefer the might and horror of ROTF a befitting look for something so named.

The bike bots are wicked in the movie and DESERVE to have all 3 with unique molds and their own unique look, if we are getting faun-helicopterboy..

And we deserved an Animated Omega Supreme. More so then a bunch of wheelsnakes that amassed a total of 30 seconds of screen time. But this is a whole other discussion for another thread. I will say that Arcee does look heaps better then Chromia. But being a pretty turd doesn't mean it won't stink.

I don't have a problem with the concept behind the bikes, what bothers me is the execution.

I can't speak for Arcee, I dont have her. But Chromia has so much dead space on her that the toy designers could have both given her the movie form as well as take liberties to make her mor traditional. From what I can see, the same goes for Arcee.

That right there is my problem, same as Demolisher, they didn't even try. Hell 10 years ago they took the libetries with the Beast Machines figures, so why not now?

Again, I don't mind the designs, I mind the lack of effort.

Yea, I grew up with the 80's stuff as well. The only thing the ROTF dev has is the 'big screan' affect. They could have actually used the 80's dev and made it much more fierce than the rotf dev. Hell, the ROTF dev was being dismantled by ONE OF THE TWINS BY HIMSELF! And a single shot takes him down while he did what damage?? Took the top off of a pyramid?? The entire 'fear' factor of dev was that he SUCKED wind - no demolition or devestation. Isn't that ironic? The ROTF dev was a disappointement. The toy itself, far far far more so, imho.
